The candidate will be a member of the SERDES design team responsible for defining, specifying, and implementing future SERDES IP with an immediate responsibility to co-architect and co-develop the clocking scheme for TX and RX.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Participate and contribute to technical path-finding discussion on future Serdes architectures and circuit topologies

  • Specify microarchitecture and develop state-of-the-art implementation of various analog-mixed signal high speed (32-64Gbps) blocks for Serdes PHYs, with initial focus on CDR and TX clocking

  • Deliver detailed specifications & documentation

  • Participate and drive design and layout reviews to ensure quality of deliverables and risk mitigation

  • Work closely with domain teams (e.g. Layout, Logical Design, Physical Design,, Firmware and Design Verification) to ensure interlocked and high-quality execution.

  • Provide additional over-all design mentorship across circuit teams

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Solid knowledge in high speed SERDES design, signaling techniques, circuit design and signal integrity

  • Solid knowledge of industry standard tools and practices for Analog-Mixed-Signal and High-Speed design

  • Ability to analyze and handle design issues from an higher abstract level (e.g. via mathematical and/or behavioral modeling)

  • Analytical thinking and inventive spirit in combination with a solid understanding of risks and risk mitigation

  • Solid, quality-oriented mindset

  • Relevant academic background (PhD preferred) and at least 10 years progressive experience

  • Strong and effective communication skills and team spirit
