Position: PROJECT MANAGER (PMO)

Duration: 12+ Months (On-going Contract)

Location: Torrance, CA 90501 (on-site only)

Rate: Open, depends on exp level (W2 Only)

Calance is a 1st tier vendor with 35 consultants working on-site for this global client. Although this is a contract role, the average consultant has been on project between 5-7 years. All work will be performed on-site and you MUST be available for a face to face interviews.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations
Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately
Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources
Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed
Manages one or more cross functional projects of high complexity
Responsible for the management of one or more medium to large sized, moderately to highly complex projects

Daily Tasks Performed
Assist other Project managers with Project deliverables as well as PMO deliverables
Assist with Project budgeting processes
Provide management and governance of Project Clarity tasks and entries
Develops and Delivers Waterfall Project documentation
Help in coordinating on-site and off-site meetings
Assists in the management of large number of users requests and queries
Manage small enhancement and small Project requests

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: (Resume must reflect this experience)
7+ years of experience Project Managing large, complex, diverse and strategic projects that impact the organization as a whole
Expertise in understanding how to manage PMO's and adept at interfacing and communicating with PMO's
Experience managing programs and project budgets
Experience implementing program and project plans, monitoring progress, resource usage and quality
Experience conducting risk assessments and developing plans for eliminating or mitigating the risks identified
Experience with AGILE and Waterfall methodologies
Experience using Microsoft Project
Must have a stable work history, working in a similar role
Must have EXCELLENT oral communication skills

Education: Bachelors Degree

Other Must Have's:
Must be able to work as a W2 hourly consultant (H1 Transfer's available)
Must reside LOCALLY (S. California area)
MUST be available for a face to face interview

Qualifications * Minimum 6 years of successful IT/Technical Project Management experience with a focus on web-based application and/or infrastructure projects * Minimum 2 years of experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) * A thorough and practical understanding of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and change management * Demonstrated ability to work well with IT stakeholders in defining project scope, objectives, and requirements * Minimum 2 years of Scrum Master experience * Minimum of 1-3 years of experience using Agile-tracking tools (Jira, Rally, Version One or similar tool) * Knowledge and experience with advanced Agile techniques such as: TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Automated Testing * Experience as part of a shared services team a plus * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Consulting (or similar) experience with demonstrated success working across matrix client, supplier and geographically dispersed teams * Experience working in a deadline-driven environment, handling and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects * Ability to produce detailed meeting agendas and meeting notes * Strong interpersonal and proactive problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently with an excellent attention to detail * Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project * Bachelor's Degree required * Must be able to travel as required We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
