The PMO Financial Planner is responsible for financial management, reporting, governance, and the development of financial budgets and forecasts for a portfolio of IT projects. Establish partnerships with business aligned finance, PMOs, and controllers. Ensure compliance with the Bank's project methodology and policies in the areas of budgeting, payment processing, capital planning, and forecasting. Communicate regularly with project teams to understand impacts to financial forecast and budget during execution of work in order to make appropriate adjustments. Partner with project managers (Clarity) and finance (PeopleSoft/Hyperion) to keep financial inputs aligned. Takes the cost and benefit information supplied by project managers to apply financial guidelines and develop the appropriate analysis for individual projects. Provide project financials around appropriations, budget, and forecast at group participation meetings, in addition to making recommendations to meet financial targets. Complete assigned financial certifications and reconciliations for portfolio cost centers.
Facilitate and lead the annual project portfolio appropriations process - coordinate project requests, budgeting and prioritization processes, recommend prioritization of the portfolio, coordinate and lead meetings with senior leaders to reach consensus on portfolio prioritization for enterprise level review, challenge and ultimate approval.
Leveraging the Enterprise Project Management Platform, EPMO and Corporate Finance processes and systems, oversee the design and preparation of financial reports for distribution to Project Managers, Project Sponsors, Portfolio Managers and senior leaders, including:
Project portfolio reporting, with key financial metrics/KPI's to support management decisions on funding, prioritization and timing
Other project, program, and portfolio reports as required to support management oversight and decision-making
Oversee and track project financial approvals as required by internal policies and assist Portfolio and Project Managers with development of Executive Level presentations for PGC or other decision making bodies to facilitate approvals.
Together with IT Finance, Controller's and the EPMO, provide guidance to Project Managers and Project Financial Analysts to ensure timely and accurate project accounting and forecasting.
Oversee project financial management activities to ensure compliance with accounting policies set by Controllers of the Americas (e.g. capital vs. expense, accruals, WIP reconciliations) and standard procedures (e.g. approvals of Statements of Work, invoices, etc.)
Monitor the project portfolio spends against forecast and budget, and report material variances with recommended actions.
Oversee creation and/or enhancement of project financial management and reporting processes, tools and reports to achieve best practices, while driving toward cost effective solutions.
Drive resolution of project financial management issues liaising with FMA leaders, Technology partners, Project Sponsors, and others as necessary.
Establish and maintain working relationship with LOB PMO to be point of contact for project financial related topics, including impact analysis and feasibility studies on portfolio priority adjustments.
BA/BS degree from a 4-year college
5+ years' experience in financial management, financial planning and analysis, or line of business finance
Banking industry experience and knowledge of banking organization, operations and technology
CPA preferred but not required
Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills ability to synthesize and present detailed financial information in a clear and concise way with executive level messaging
Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Hyperion are a plus
Strong leadership skills and very proactive in approach
Ability to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player
Strong communication and presentation skills; confidence and ability to present to large groups and to executive management
Ability to lead meetings, facilitate resolution of differing views
