PM Technician (2Nd Shift)

Position Summary

The Preventative Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment in the production facility and its support areas.

Role and Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, check and reassemble injection molds, EPS molds and press dies to maintain them for production.

• Fill out proper paperwork showing the completion of PM, noting any problems found and bringing it to the attention of team lead or shift supervisor.

• Set up and operate conventional machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes. Training provided.

• File, grind, shim and adjust different parts to properly fit them together.

• Able to perform preventative maintenance on press dies, EPS molds and injection molds including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic components.

• Lift, position and secure machine parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, V-blocks or angle plates

• Perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task

• Drive a forklift and/or operate overhead crane to transport dies/molds as well as other heavy equipment.

• Other tasks, as assigned by management.

Skills and Qualifications

1.Education: High school Diploma

2.Experience: none for Level 1, Level 2-4 any amount technical school or OJT in any technical trade.

3.Knowledge: Basic machine shop operation, Welding and Overhead crane and forklift operation preferred but not required for hiring.

4.Skills: Work independently, critical thinking and problem solving. Mechanical ability. Good communication with coworkers, Supervisors and Part Leader.

5.Physical requirement: • Frequently required to stand; use hands to handle and reach.

• Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

• All employees must be able to lift up 35 lbs. and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
