Mark’s PM Receptionist is a crucial position for the safety of St.

Mark’s Episcopal School. While this position encompasses many different duties, its primary function is to assure that visitors to campus are properly greeted and access to campus is safely restricted to welcome guests. The School has many events that begin or continue after 6:00 PM when the Front Desk does not have coverage.

This position is intended to provide coverage beginning at 3:00 each day and remain on duty until the required time of 6:00, 7:00 or 8:00 PM (depending on event and day). Daily Duties: Access the After Hours Calendar of Events on a weekly basis to view the upcoming event schedule. Arrive at 3:00 PM to begin duties and make contact for the Administrator in Charge (AIC) for briefing on the evening’s events and needs.

From 3:00-6:00 each evening, staff the Front Desk and assist with Dismissal and Carpool activities. After 6:00 PM, duties may vary with event to include: Answer the phone, potentially using the School’s after hours mobile phone.

Check the teams and/or parents in through the Front Security Gate Assure gate to Courtyard is unlocked and closed and that the direction signage is in place. Badge in visitors when aligned with AIC’s needs Stand at the Security or Courtyard Gate when requested by the AIC to allow teams and/or parents access, assuring no one that doesn’t belong is able to enter. View cameras and walk-through areas of campus to assure visitors are in the areas approved by the AIC.

Alert AIC of any campus security concerns and/or students/parents are in unauthorized areas. Coordinate activities with on-site Security Officer(s). Communicate departure with AIC. General Duties:

Receive all guests, faculty and staff, students, vendors, and others in a personal way and be sensitive to how demeanor is reflective of the School. Quickly adapt to changing needs and rising situations, communicating necessary information to the Director of Operations in a timely manner. Be knowledgeable about campus activities to answer questions Maintain a clean and welcoming space at the Front Desk.

Communicate maintenance emergencies to the Facilities team and put in Facilities tickets for areas needing attention. Skills and Aptitudes: Computer literate including Google Docs, GMail, and ability to learn NAV360 check in and other proprietary software Disciplined in organizing, preparing, and performing tasks Pleasant to all parties, eager to complete work, general upbeat disposition Capable of:

Work independently without direct supervision recognize problem areas and react accordingly manage time and juggle multiple tasks and projects enjoy working with adults and children manage stress and maintain composure in a hectic and fast-paced environment Physical Requirements: Normal physical mobility and coordination include movement from place to place such as climbing stairs and ladders. Ability to reach and bend, push/pull, climb and lift and carry objects with a weight of up to 50 pounds, and ability to assist with handling objects in excess of 50 pounds.
