WSP, a world-class multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Plumbing Design Engineer for our Dallas, TX office. We work closely with architects and owners from around the world on large, complex healthcare projects with a focus on sustainability and energy performance of the built environment.

You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. Job Description
As a Plumbing Design Engineer you will be responsible for mechanical/plumbing design aspects of projects.
Design:
Develop drawing and specification documents
Design automatic temperature control system and specifications
Design air distribution (supply, return, exhaust) and hydronic systems (chilled water, heating water, etc)
Design plumbing systems (domestic water, waste, vent, storm, etc).
Design medical gas systems
Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure proper design considerations have been made
Analytics:
Select major equipment and schedule usage
Perform plumbing and med gas load calculations
Produce high quality technical and professional deliverables for projects and proposals
Utilize advanced analytical and design techniques to solve technical problems
Perform tasks related to construction administration
Prepare reports
Collaboration:
Provide guidance and training to entry level engineers
Coordinate and manage tasks within larger projects
Propose creative solutions to complex problems as part of team
Communicate system design decisions to senior quality assurance staff to ensure proper application and adherence to project scope.
Develop client requests and attend client meetings
Contribute and interact with team, develop and manage high quality technical and professional deliverables on projects and proposals.
Participate in local professional organization (attend meetings/lectures), ie, poster sessions, participate in conference panel
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Plumbing, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering
3+ years' of experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Interest in innovative design, specifically in renewable energies and sustainable, high performing buildings.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous building design internship experience preferred.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
Knowledge of building and energy codes
EIT License or LEED AP Certification
