Position: Plumber

Department: Building Maintenance

Shift:7AM-3:30PM/ Weekends & Holidays

Status: Full-time/ 80 hours per pay period

Facility: Miami Valley Hospital

Responsible for performing a wide range of repair and preventative maintenance tasks related to plumbing systems, including piping and associated fixtures, and limited involvement with medical gas systems, piping, outlets and associated equipment.

Demonstrates prompt and courteous services to customers and is able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff within the organization. Executes independent judgment under the implied guidelines of Premier Health's quality, customer satisfaction, positive work environment and financial stewardship goals.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: 2 years plumbing system installation and maintenance

Preferred experience: Hospital plumbing / maintenance experience

Knowledge/Skills

• Minimum level of experience Required: High school graduate or GED.
• Able to read building blueprints and plan installation of piping systems.
• Able to troubleshoot and make repairs to plumbing fixtures and plumbing system components.
• Able to troubleshoot and make appropriate repairs to medical gas/vacuum system components.
• Able to troubleshoot and bypass, isolate and/or cross-connect basic plumbing and gas systems necessary to make repairs or eliminate perilous situations.
• Able to perform repairs utilizing a variety of tools including but not limited to torches, wrenches, pipe cutters, etc. related to the plumbing trade and to perform repair tasks involving welding, brazing and soldering.
• Able to plan work in order to avoid any unexpected outages or disruption of services and requisition all needed materials in advance of the work.
• Must be able to assemble and install valves, pipe fittings and piping composed of metals and non-metals such as glass and plastic.
• Able to operate computer programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and computerized work order system.
• Must have a valid Ohio driver's license.
• Prior hospital experience preferred
