Job Summary:

Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing systems and medical gas systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspects, repairs and performs maintenance on all types of plumbing systems to include heating, steam, gas lines and medical gas systems.

  • Installs and maintains pipe assemblies, plumbing fixtures and fittings.

  • Tests fire system valves, tamper switches, fire pumps and dry deluge fire systems.

  • Repairs and maintains steam stations, pressure relief valves, heating/condensate return stations, back flow preventers and sewer/storm drains.

  • Work may occasionally be assigned across multiple Cleveland Clinic locations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certifications:

  • Plumbing License through the Ohio Department of Commerce is preferred.

  • Medical Gas Certification though National Inspection Testing and Certification Corporation (NITC) is preferred.

  • Certified Backflow Tester Certification though the Ohio Department of Commerce is preferred.

Competencies (Complexity of Work):

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Ability to read/comprehend blueprints and use of testing devices. Knowledge of Microsoft software.

Work Experience:

  • Four years of experience as a plumber, including experience with pressurized gas systems, vacuum systems, steam, hot water and fire protection system.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands require full body motion, including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching and climbing ladders.

  • Requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery.

  • Typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 pounds and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 pounds.

  • Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color-coded signage and systems.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Travel required for Outreach Support, weekend, Holidays, and on-call "must have a good driving record and insurance on personal vehicle . 4 points or less Responsibilities: * Performs blood collection procedures and related tasks. * Verifies order requests and identifying information prior to drawing blood or collecting the specimen/kit to be tested by analytical staff. * Labels all specimens collected and delivers them to the appropriate processing area. * Follows venipuncture procedures and maintains appropriate log sheets. * Greets patients warmly and professionally at check in or when they present to outpatient lab desks or when entering a patient's room and completes test request entry and specimen receipt using lab computer. * Performs specimen processing and sends out tasks including accessioning, centrifugation and packaging for transport when necessary for all specimen types. * Communicates essential information to appropriate personnel. * Actively promotes effective communication flow both within and outside of the department. * Picks up and delivers blood, other sample types, and lab supplies to appropriate areas. 3rd round * Provides a positive customer service rapport and interacts in a pleasant, courteous and cordial manner with co-workers and patients at all times. * Participates in team discussions, provide problem solving ideas and contribute to quality improvement goals.
