Lansing, MI Job Description Purpose of Job: Installation and maintenance of all plumbing systems including sanitary facilities, water supplies, storm water and sewage disposal, medical gases and fire protection sprinkler systems. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
Designs and implements a progressive preventive maintenance system. Ensures and provides a safe means of disposal of sanitary sewer and storm drainagesystem throughout the hospital. Provides for the installation of all domestic hot and cold water as needed throughout the hospital.
Maintains and repairs hot & chilled water piping for heating/cooling systems. Provides, installs and maintains all medical gases necessary for the operation of the hospital. Installs and maintains fire protection sprinkler system.
Performs and communicates with and around all patients, staff, and visitors within theconfines of the hospital. Participates in On-Call Program for trade area. Serves as a role model for consistent demonstration of Sparrow Health System's Customer Service Behavioral Standards of Performance, by respecting the Privacy and Confidentiality of those we serve.
Demonstrates knowledge and respects patient, service provider, and organizational confidentiality and HIPAA Security procedures and protocols as defined under the HIPAA Privacy and Security Procedures. Follows established HIPAA privacy procedures when using and/or disclosing protected health information. Job Requirements General Requirements • State of Michigan Journeyman Plumber License or higher. • Drives hospital/department vehicles.
Must have valid driver's license. Work Experience • 6 Years Journeyman experience preferred Education • High School Diploma or GED Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Knowledge of plumbing code required by the city or state • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blue prints • Demonstrated mathematical skills University of Michigan Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
