Job Summary:
As a member of the University's Maintenance team, the Plumber will work closely with the maintenance supervisor and director of campus operations to support all facility plumbing related needs.
Essential Functions:

2.Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in all university buildings and structures.
3.Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other members of the maintenance team.
4.Follow building plans and blueprints.
5.Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
6.Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
7.Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling and electrical work as required.
8.Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
9.Report any and all maintenance issues to supervisor
Qualifications/Education:
1.Commitment to the mission statement, core values and goals of Alvernia University.
2.High school degree
3.Journeymen plumber license required, master plumber's license preferred
4.Plumbing license for City of Reading
5.Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices
6.Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings
7.Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper
8.Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills
9.Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted
Excellent problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements
Must be able to work in all types of weather/elements
Over five years tradesman experience
Ability to rank and prioritize multiple projects at once
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade
Solid communications skills
Physical Requirements:
1.Attendance is required in order to perform the duties of this job.
2.Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
3.Valid driver's license is required
4.On call rotation on a regular basis to include nights and weekends as needed.
