The PLC Technician will assist Cradles Maintenance in keeping the line running through their knowledge of the logic and their ability to troubleshoot the logic.


Responsible for helping to develop and train maintenance employees in the area of controls, leading improvements in the cradles areas, assisting and supporting the maintenance team in troubleshooting and area improvements across the Cradle Lines. Coordinate project activities and ensure all parts and tools are available for those projects.

3) Troubleshoot various manufacturing equipment.
4) Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
5) Troubleshoot ControlLogix/GuardLogix ladder logic programs.
6) Make modifications to existing equipment as required.
7) Communication protocol (Ethernet/IP and DeviceNet) troubleshooting.
8) Make modifications to FactoryTalk View Studio HMI projects.
9) Assist in the troubleshooting of robots in both programming and electrical.
10) Perform other duties as required.


SKILL (Ability to do the job)

  • Must have expert computer skills to include operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must have great working knowledge of RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000

  • Working knowledge of industrial maintenance with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical and controls application

  • Must have good mathematical skills and communication skills

  • Ability to use testing and troubleshooting equipment

  • Must have a general knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics

  • Must have excellent attention to detail traits

  • Must have a basic knowledge of drafting and be able to read and understand (blueprint reading, dimensional drawings, schematics etc.)

  • Basic knowledge of AUTOCAD


Some of the physical demands for this position include the ability to lift 40 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping.


Some of the equipment and tools used are: Computers, telephone, 2-way radio, copier/printer, hand tools, PLCs, blue prints, robots, multi-meter


EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree from a technical college or minimum of 5 years on-the-job training with heavy industrial manufacturing facility in skilled trade capacity preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

TECHNICAL TRAINING: Experience working with Allen Bradley controls systems, including safety PLC's.

OTHER: Computer skills; Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel, AutoCAD

WHAT TYPES? Strong technical background; previous experience with field-driven computer systems and inventory control(Kepware)

HOW MUCH? Minimum 5 years of automated manufacturing technical experience preferred


  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Tabware CMMS experience

  • Fanuc robot programming

  • Background in implementing and maintaining systems to support maintenance and production

General Description: As a Commercial Service Technician, you will be accountable for properly and safely performing the tire and related services needed for all commercial tire users both in the truck care center and on the road. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: * Service Commercial Tires including dismounting and mounting any type of tire. * Train to perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary. * Inflating of tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements. * Perform roadside service calls on a rotating on call schedule. * Determine repairable tire conditions and making such repairs. * Remove tires for retreading or repair as needed. * Properly execute required service ticket to submit to management. * Respond in a timely manner to customer service calls, diagnosing issues, and performing on-site repairs and/or replacements. * Clean and maintain service equipment. * Properly maintain assigned Service Vehicle including appearance of on-board service equipment. * Provide "Service Excellence - Always" to meet the service goals of the location and of customers * Comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements. * Wear proper PPE, use tire cages, and follow all other safety policies and procedures. * Any other duties as assigned by management * Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting Basic Requirements: * Position requires an on-call schedule on a rotating basis. Must be willing to perform service calls on nights and/or weekends on a rotating basis. * Must have a valid driver's license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements, including being at least 18 years of age. * No relocation is being offered for this position. * Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
