PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The PLC Technician will assist Cradles Maintenance in keeping the line running through their knowledge of the logic and their ability to troubleshoot the logic.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:
Responsible for helping to develop and train maintenance employees in the area of controls, leading improvements in the cradles areas, assisting and supporting the maintenance team in troubleshooting and area improvements across the Cradle Lines. Coordinate project activities and ensure all parts and tools are available for those projects.

3) Troubleshoot various manufacturing equipment.
4) Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
5) Troubleshoot ControlLogix/GuardLogix ladder logic programs.
6) Make modifications to existing equipment as required.
7) Communication protocol (Ethernet/IP and DeviceNet) troubleshooting.
8) Make modifications to FactoryTalk View Studio HMI projects.
9) Assist in the troubleshooting of robots in both programming and electrical.
10) Perform other duties as required.
SKILL (Ability to do the job)
Must have expert computer skills to include operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite
Must have great working knowledge of RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000
Working knowledge of industrial maintenance with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical and controls application
Must have good mathematical skills and communication skills
Ability to use testing and troubleshooting equipment
Must have a general knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
Must have excellent attention to detail traits
Must have a basic knowledge of drafting and be able to read and understand (blueprint reading, dimensional drawings, schematics etc.)
Basic knowledge of AUTOCAD
Some of the physical demands for this position include the ability to lift 40 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping.
EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED
Some of the equipment and tools used are: Computers, telephone, 2-way radio, copier/printer, hand tools, PLCs, blue prints, robots, multi-meter
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree from a technical college or minimum of 5 years on-the-job training with heavy industrial manufacturing facility in skilled trade capacity preferred.
TECHNICAL TRAINING: Experience working with Allen Bradley controls systems, including safety PLC's.
OTHER: Computer skills; Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel, AutoCAD
WHAT TYPES? Strong technical background; previous experience with field-driven computer systems and inventory control(Kepware)
HOW MUCH? Minimum 5 years of automated manufacturing technical experience preferred

Tabware CMMS experience
Fanuc robot programming
