PLC Maintenance Technician

We are currently looking for 1st shift Maintenance Technician with a background in manufacturing facility located out in the eastern part of Long Island. This position is a direct hire opportunity.

Monday- Friday

1st Shift

Pay Range

  • 25.00 hourly

  • 32.00 hourly depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

-Troubleshoot and wire motor control centers, motor start circuits, protective relaying, and related equipment.

  • Read/interpret engineering drawings and manuals

  • Install electrical conduit, pull and terminate wiring.

  • Ability to use electrical/electronic testing equipment to such as multi-meters, ammeters, to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

  • Install and wire control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.

  • Install and wire drive systems. Install and wire programmable logic control systems (PLC). Interpret and/or modify PLC control logic as necessary.

  • Design layout work on panels, set up complex control systems, interpret and alter engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.

  • Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, and panels

  • Effectively communicate problems and solutions to resolve electrical problems.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Skills:

-Five (5) years of experience in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment with related training.

  • Considerable knowledge of electrical systems, including high-voltage switchgear, protective relaying, grounding procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, safety procedures, and electrical test equipment.

  • Good knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.

  • Knowledge of electronics and instrumentation.

  • Ability to use engineering drawings, schematics, and service manuals to troubleshoot, install, and repair equipment.

Responsibilities include: * Responsible for overall performance of the Department and Support Operations on any events. * Proven track record Leading and Managing maintenance personel * Strong background in managing budgets, prodjects and 3rd party contractors * Coordinate all equipment, maintenance and PM Activities with the Maintenance Planner * Purchase equipment, parts and supplies for department operations while maintaining budget * Support new equipment installations * Guide a team as well as individually adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect, reassuring the quality and quantity of product produced. * Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs, effectiveness of work and sustainable improvements * Implementation of procedural/policy changes to enhance department performance * Work between tactical and strategic activities to improve the maintenance department * Works effectively in a multitask environment and consistently tracks the progress of ongoing initiative * Ensures tasks are completed within set deadlines * Enforce safety policies and work habits * Maintain a 5-S and organized maintenance shop on their shift * Promote and develops a strong teamwork environment * Role will require a hands on Supervisory approach * Must appropriately handle employee questions, concerns, and keep track of issues with the intent to train and coach associates to maintain a positive work environment Note this is a 2nd Shift Opportunity. Afternoons Monday - Friday. * 1+ Years of experience in a Maintenance Supervisory position within a production or similar environment * 2 year technical degree with equivalent work related experience preferred or military leadership experience * Must have working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) * Preferred experience in food/beverage, dietary supplement, cosmetic or pharmaceutical industries * Working knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) Demonstrated mechanical ability & technical aptitude within a manufacturing maintenance environment * Must be able to read and understand blueprints and schematics * Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma Tools is a plus * Experience within a high performance driven environment is a plus * Demonstrated project leadership roles for equipment and facilities improvements * Demonstrates initiative, sense of urgency and bias for action * Must be computer literate in excel spreadsheet and Microsoft program use * Communicates effectively with others using both oral and written communication skills The Nature's Bounty Co. is an equal opportunity employer.
