POSITION SUMMARYThe PLC Controls Technicians primary responsible is to assist maintenance technicians in resolving all electrical and controls issues. Identification follow up, and resolution of root causes, including equipment parts reliability and availability, preventive maintenance system effectiveness, and provide general support on maintenance functions at the supply chain center, as needed.
Conduct training for technicians/end users as required on new and existing equipment and assist with electrical/controls integration of capital projects throughout the supply chain center. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Standardize control systems and control logic designs
Document operational procedures and as-built drawings and logic
Assist with all outside controls contractors and system integrators to insure proper transfer of documented PLC programs Troubleshooting and repair of control instrumentation equipment problems Assist in commissioning new controls
Perform preventative maintenance to optimize equipment reliability
Follow-up on completed control work and assisting maintenance as needed
Update drawings as required, forwarding all equipment information to the planner/schedulerControl project development - research, concepts, estimating, design, and component selection
Manage device layout network design, panel design, device troubleshooting, installation, and debugging
Develop and Control schematics Work in accordance with safe work practices at all times
Implement and maintain 5S standardsQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be pro-active, stay on top of technical readings, and continuous learning to keep up with the technology that is associated with this field/position. A willingness to transfer learnings to others to help build the overall technical competence of the entire center, perform in teams or individually and perform under stress.
AA degree in maintenance or related field Minimum of 5 years experience in a PLC technician role in distribution, supply chain, or manufacturing. Food Manufacturing experience is preferred Strong engineering and technical skills including PLC logic, Electrical and Mechanical skills HMI tagging / layout design knowledge AB controls knowledge Automation controls, AutoCAD, and Robotics experience Possess an ability to conduct basic mathematical calculations Strong communication skills to work with center personnel and vendors Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Knowledgeable of continuous improvement methods; 5s, six sigma, etc. Advanced Windows based computer systems and spreadsheets Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematic diagrams
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The team member is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold [33-38], extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, explosion, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be high. The team member must have a strong safety awareness to insure a safe and healthy work place. Ability to work Sunday Saturday, rotating shifts, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, support a 24 hour/7-day operation and carry an emergency cell phone as needed Ability to stand, push, pull, squat, bend, kneel, climb and walk on a continual basis throughout shift, and work in awkward and tight areas/spaces Ability to lift from floor to above the head, to carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently, and 75 lbs. occasionally, throughout work shift Ability to work with yeast and flour products Must successfully pass a background checks every third year on your anniversary dateONE BRAND.
