Overview

The role of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Technician will provide support and Total Productive Maintenance for the 531 distribution center. Qualified candidate will serve as liaison to production in order to increase knowledge and understanding of daily hurdles for the production team and will provide services in the field of Predictive Maintenance. This may include the creation and/or preservation of activities such as Vibration Analysis, IR Thermal Imaging, Ultrasound Testing, Oil Analysis, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an effective Back-Up Program. To include documented task, consistent schedules, and Standard Operating Procedures that will preserve all necessary hardware and software for the VSC Maintenance Department.

  • Provide support for Asset-Up Streamlining. The documentation, tracking, and resolution of issues such as device lag times, conditional glitches within PLC software, flow bottlenecks, downtime recurrence reduction, etc.

  • Coordinate the installation, modifications, upgrades, and repair of advanced system components such as PLC's, AC drives, DC drives, HMI's, scanners, ASCII converters, communication modules, encoders, etc.

  • Ensure assigned functions are maintained per guidelines set by the management team. This may include routine audits, CI events, projects, training, data analysis and trending, etc.

  • Serve as a Facilitator for the CMMS System (MPulse) by monitoring Work Requests, Inputting Work Orders, Scheduling Work Orders and verifying work that has been completed.

  • Work with Maintenance Supervisor on scheduling and performing PM Audits and providing training for any deficiencies noted.

  • Help in areas of inventory control for our critical spare parts including reorganization, 5S, Carrying Cost reduction, part-outage reduction, etc.

  • Assist as needed to help technicians resolve complex breakdowns in all areas of the facility.

  • Responsible for Safe, reliable and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment.

  • Log any necessary data for required reports pertaining to analysis, errors, and maintenance activities.

  • Responsible for acquiring the necessary level of understanding of the system software, WMI, and Wonder Ware in order to safely and effectively operate, maintain and repair the facility equipment.

  • To safely and effectively use and maintain facility and Maintenance Department vehicles such as the pickup truck, dump truck, tractor trailers.

Qualifications

  • 2 Year Degree: A.A.S. or A.E. in Electrical & Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Applied Engineering & Design.

  • 3+ years' experience in an Industrial Distribution or Manufacturing Maintenance setting.

  • 3+ years' experience in troubleshooting, repair, project management, or reliability.

  • Knowledge of and experience with basic hand tools.

  • Formal training and experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting, VFD systems, and HMI systems.

  • Must be proficient in PC applications: Utilizing the Internet for R&D, Email, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.

Restock pick locations. Limited use of material handling equipment may be required. Schedule is: Sunday through Wednesday 630am to 430pm Responsibilities * Scan into the PKMS system to track your time in each task performed throughout the shift. * Follow the labeling procedures for each type of order. * Picker will accurately pick multiple customer orders. * Once orders are complete, use proper procedure by package type to either stage or place on the conveyor. * Operate a power jack at the sortation system to move full containers to load on a trailer. * Stocker will perform material handling functions as needed to support the operation. * Stocker will restock pick locations by dumping product into the proper pick location and place excess in side stock area. * Meet quality and productivity measures as required. * Perform all tasks to ensure a safe work environment. Follow all safety procedures and policies. * Work as part of a team by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner. * Must be able to work overtime as required. * Stack empty pallets; clean and sweep work area and remove trash regularly. * Perform other duties assigned. Qualifications * High School Diploma or equivalent * Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions - understand implied instructions. * Regular attendance is required. * Pallet Jack experience preferred; may be required. * Certification of all equipment used in this position will be obtained from DTC programs. * Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. * Familiarization of hand held scanners. * Ability to adapt to changing procedures, policies and work environment. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Must be able to work safely in a fast paced team environment.
