The role of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Technician will provide support and Total Productive Maintenance for the 531 distribution center. Qualified candidate will serve as liaison to production in order to increase knowledge and understanding of daily hurdles for the production team and will provide services in the field of Predictive Maintenance. This may include the creation and/or preservation of activities such as Vibration Analysis, IR Thermal Imaging, Ultrasound Testing, Oil Analysis, etc.
Establish and maintain an effective Back-Up Program. To include documented task, consistent schedules, and Standard Operating Procedures that will preserve all necessary hardware and software for the VSC Maintenance Department.
Provide support for Asset-Up Streamlining. The documentation, tracking, and resolution of issues such as device lag times, conditional glitches within PLC software, flow bottlenecks, downtime recurrence reduction, etc.
Coordinate the installation, modifications, upgrades, and repair of advanced system components such as PLC's, AC drives, DC drives, HMI's, scanners, ASCII converters, communication modules, encoders, etc.
Ensure assigned functions are maintained per guidelines set by the management team. This may include routine audits, CI events, projects, training, data analysis and trending, etc.
Serve as a Facilitator for the CMMS System (MPulse) by monitoring Work Requests, Inputting Work Orders, Scheduling Work Orders and verifying work that has been completed.
Work with Maintenance Supervisor on scheduling and performing PM Audits and providing training for any deficiencies noted.
Help in areas of inventory control for our critical spare parts including reorganization, 5S, Carrying Cost reduction, part-outage reduction, etc.
Assist as needed to help technicians resolve complex breakdowns in all areas of the facility.
Responsible for Safe, reliable and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment.
Log any necessary data for required reports pertaining to analysis, errors, and maintenance activities.
Responsible for acquiring the necessary level of understanding of the system software, WMI, and Wonder Ware in order to safely and effectively operate, maintain and repair the facility equipment.
To safely and effectively use and maintain facility and Maintenance Department vehicles such as the pickup truck, dump truck, tractor trailers.
2 Year Degree: A.A.S. or A.E. in Electrical & Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Applied Engineering & Design.
3+ years' experience in an Industrial Distribution or Manufacturing Maintenance setting.
3+ years' experience in troubleshooting, repair, project management, or reliability.
Knowledge of and experience with basic hand tools.
Formal training and experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting, VFD systems, and HMI systems.
Must be proficient in PC applications: Utilizing the Internet for R&D, Email, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
