Position: Playgroup Leader Summer Only
Location: Watertown Public Schools
Salary range: $25 per hour
Shift Type: Part-time (8-10 hours per week)
Schedule: Tuesdays & Wednesdays - with possible changes
Hours subject to change 8:30 to 12:30, Only 6 weeks
Starting July 9, 2024 - Ending August 14, 2024
Report to: CFCE Coordinator
Summary:
Playgroup Leader Summer Only will play a key role in building the capacity of families, children and community members to support child development and cultural diversity.
Responsibilities:
Assist the CFCE coordinator with development of early childhood programs that meet the conditions of the CFCE Grant
Assist the CFCE coordinator in the daily preparation and operation of the Family Center; (participating in the supervision of the Family Center or off-site locations)
Assist in the maintenance and good repair of the areas (Family Center or off-site locations), including cleaning/sanitizing of materials.
Assist in the implementation of the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, including parent communication and necessary record keeping
Assist the CFCE Coordinator with community outreach collaborations that help raise awareness of the resources and services available at the site, as well as other local programs and agencies
Support the extracurricular, after-hours outreach programs sponsored by the CFCE, as designated by the CFCE Coordinator.
Knowledge and Skills:
1.Associate's Degree or documented training in Early Childhood Education or related field
2.Knowledge/experience in curriculum development
3.Knowledge/experience in classroom management in an early childhood setting 4.Knowledge/experience in public and private preschool programs
5.Knowledge/experience with center-based and family child care programs
6.Background/knowledge of early literacy
7.Experience working with families of young children (ages 0-6)
8.Sensitivity to children at different developmental levels
9..Ability to maintain confidentiality
10.Bilingual
