Plating Support Specialist
Provide engineering and technical support to all manufacturing processes and equipment, including design, control maintenance, tooling and advanced troubleshooting of equipment and processes. Lead and coordinate Special projects with contractors and inhouse teams.
Participate in 5S, Continuous Improvement, waste elimination, and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Liaise and guide with WWT (waste water treatment), monitor process for compliance and coordinate development opportunities.
Become an active member of the Plating production team, contributing ideas and support through continuous improvement, supporting harmonious work relationships, and efficient work habits.
Assist in troubleshooting process problems on the plating lines with Mechanical/Electrical and process.
Reduction of shutdown/changeover times or other cost reductions within the process.
Provide maintenance and monitoring of processes in areas of responsibility.
Lead and coordinate Special projects with contractors and inhouse teams.
Conduct inspections and monitor WWT (Waste water treatment) making sure we are in environmental compliance and provide development opportunities and lead activities.
Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports for defining production/maintenance problems and makes recommendations for improvements.
Provide support to Area manager and department leads when requested.
Assist in training of personnel, including engineers, operators, technicians.
Oversea spare parts strategy including quoting, specifying and setting up of parts/equipment.
Observe all company policies and procedures.
Actively support the identification and elimination of waste with the objective of achieving an efficient process flow and maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
Lead continuous improvement activities in the Plating and WWT areas.
Monitor WWT regulations and meet regulations daily within the department.
Observe all safety regulations including use of personal protection equipment (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves, etc.).
Report all unsafe conditions or events to Group Leader, Area Manager, or EHS representative in a timely manner.
Compliance to all Continental and Henderson plant permits, policies and procedures including, but not limited to, environmental, health, safety, security, ISO 14001 and Environmental Management systems, TS 16949 and Quality Management Systems, Human Resources policies, and Continental Business System elements.
Additional functions as required by the supervisor to contribute to the overall positive results of the Plating team. Contribute to the overall 5S and organization/cleanliness of the facility.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR 10 years of relevant manufacturing experience
5 years of experience in manufacturing experience
Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and tooling trouble-shooting experience.
Strong Leadership Skills (team building, problem solving, analytic)
Project Management experience
Strong 8-D Problem Solving analysis
GD&T controls experience
High level organizational skills
o Excellent Communication written and verbal
o Basic costing/budgeting experience
