Job Description:

This role is responsible for working closely with our customers and CTO support team to deliver outstanding customer experience. Responsible for automating production support manual processes as much as possible as well as procuring tools and services in support of production services.

  • Minimize manual processes in favor of automation and standardization working closely with the CTO Production support L1/L2. Deliver reliable L3 Data Analytics Platform production services and target 7x24 availability.

  • Responsible for setting, documenting, and socializing Platform Operational Governance standards and adherence to Data Analytics Platform architecture guidance and best practices.

  • Governance includes Hadoop, Data Lake services, as well as other tools in support of our customers

  • . Partner with Data Analytics Platform Architecture leaders, senior business leaders across the company, and the SDM leaders to form and shape our adoption of standard pipeline for the deployment of applications into production to realize the goal of continues deployment.

  • Asist on the automation of Data extraction/versioning to create predictable workloads.

  • Maintain accurate numbers on platform usage/licenses to ensure the DAP service remains compliant.

  • Responsible of managing the schedule of updates/patches working with our customers and CTO teams to ensure smooth process with minimum impact to our customers. Also responsible of managing three AITs (HaaS, Data Lake, Kafka, MapR) and proper usage charges back to our customers.

Responsibilities for the Platform Operations Governance and Management Delivery Manager:

  • L3 Platform support and Vendor coordination for problem management

  • Platform Metrics reporting to Customers

  • Production Change requests as part of software upgrades or new tools

  • Review and approval of workload before moving to production.

  • Gathering requirements from customers and providing forecast on utilization based on customer requests.

  • L3 Problem resolution

  • Platform / deployment management

  • Production playbooks

  • Automaton of any operation manual processes

  • Business relationship management

  • Assist clients deployment using standard pipeline into production to achieve CI/CD

  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience

  • Documentation required for customers to ensure smooth production experience The key success criteria for this leader is to run the Operations Governance and Management team effectively and with exceptional customer experience.

  • This role will be measured via customer satisfaction and progress towards embracing Dev/Ops. Leader most strive to minimize manual processes and touch points across the production processes.

Part of the skills and experiences for this role include;

  • Expert on Hadoop services and other distributed services

  • Knowledge of Cloud Support/Operations on premise and external cloud services like AWS/Azure

  • Experience managing complex platform governance services

  • Expert minimizing manual processes via automation

  • Passion for customer satisfaction

  • Understanding of Big Data services

  • Understanding Data & HDFS principles

  • Familiar with Dev/Ops and CI/CD Pipeline ? Deep skills on production operations

  • Knowledge of Big Data analytic tools and Data wranglers

  • Expert managing L3 service to assist customers with platform issues

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills This leader must be committed to adapt to BAC culture to gain the ability to influence and achieve alignment across a range of different opinions and interests. Manage and monitor the ORM division's annual planning, budget, staffing, risk-based coverage model, reporting and governance activities in consultation with the Chief Operational Risk Officer, while coordinating ORM activities with internal risk partners, Audit Services and the regulatory agencies. Provide effective leadership and oversight of the prioritization, management and monitoring of ORM strategic initiatives in consultation with the ORM Programs Manager, Chief Operational Risk Officer (CORO) and in collaboration with other business partners. * On February 7, 2019, it was announced that SunTrust Banks, Inc. and BB&T Corporation intend to merge, with the combined entity to be named Truist Financial Corporation ("Truist"). The merger is subject to regulatory approval, and BB&T and SunTrust remain separate and independent companies until the merger closes. This position, which would be for a role with Truist or an affiliate, is contingent upon the merger receiving regulatory approval and closing.
