Position Overview

The Engineer job family develops and maintains desktop, airport and mobile devices for the enterprise. Engineers must understand current and future technical platforms from the hardware, operating system, communications, security, and system services layers. They are responsible to plan, design, and build the standard platforms for the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Focus on internal and external customer requirements

  • Document and communicate assigned work and progress to immediate project team, and management

  • Communicate problems or issues in a timely manner

  • Analyze and resolve problems of medium complexity

  • Research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution with minimal supervision

  • Provide effective resolution and follow-up of problems as they occur

  • Analyze trends to proactively prevent problems

  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies

  • Test and implement system components using techniques that preserve system integrity

  • Understand implications of situations and proactively lead cross-functional problem resolution

  • Responsible for immediate response to production system and environment problems

  • Provide technical problem resolution

  • Assure functional and technical integrity of system

  • Input to budget

  • Perform technical cost-benefit analysis

  • Assist in the creation and execution of communication plans for end users of implemented Desktop Engineering processes to provide input on enhancements, new versions, problems, issues, etc. Maintain an awareness of the use & benefits of Desktop Engineering

  • Develop understanding of business process being supported by assigned system(s)

  • Provide input and light carpentry work for design of PC and printer equipment. i.e. Mounting or removing of cabinets; brackets; raceways for cables

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of professional work experience and education

  • 3 years work experience in Desktop Engineering or Information Technology

  • Completes tasks with minimal direction.

  • Works well within a team

  • Is proficient in the required desktop technologies such as Windows, MS office, SCCM, MDM

  • Deliver and implement a standard software packaging and deployment based on knowledge of best practices

  • Ensure workstations and peripherals are patched and secured as per policies and modern best-practices

  • Ability to create Knowledge documents for use in training operations personnel on the deployment, support and maintenance of environments and platforms

  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems of medium complexity

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based, customer-service-oriented environment

  • Excellent partnering, negotiation, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking technologies and fundamentals

  • Experience in managing alternate client operating systems, such as Mac OS, IOS, and Android

  • 2+ years of professional experience in enterprise client device management.

  • 2+ years of customer service experience

  • Airline Travel Industry experience

VIEW JOBS 11/4/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-02T00:00 Position Overview The Manager, IT – Platform & Network Services will lead/direct the team in all matters concerning Level 2 support of Infrastructure Services (Platform, Data Network and Voice). This Manager will advise the Senior Director, IT - Systems Operations, working from beginning to end, outlining and implementing the processes that result in the highest degree of effectiveness and agility in support of business goals. Key Responsibilities * Oversee L2 Infrastructure Services support 24x7x365 * Ensure the effective resolution of all infrastructure related incidents * Level 3 triage, working with the Engineering, Development and Supplier teams to enact "immediate repairs" to bring systems back on line in a safe & expedited manner * Real-time performance management for ongoing operations * Manage team on supporting investigation of production outages/problems and the subsequent restoration of service; ensure remediation of root cause * Coordination and deployment of infrastructure as well as support for all other Systems Operations impacted deployments * Manage, review and report network performance to meet demands and maintain Service and Operating Level Agreements * Understand and coordinate all changes between shifts. Coordinate change activity with the Incident Manager so that conflicts and complications are minimized or eliminated * Manage relationships with other IT Managers, to ensure successful coordination of day-to-day work * DR Support * Capacity Reporting * Provide effective leadership on supporting 3rd party vendor hosted solutions, oversight of resources located locally and remotely, and adherence to Hawaiian Airlines' standards for security, platform and performance * Conduct performance reviews, coaching, identifying training and development requirements * Effectively communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures * Maintains quality of service by establishing and enforcing organization standards * Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with other IT teams * Ensure projects are completed within budget and on time * Other duties as assigned Requirements Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education * 7 years of professional experience in the implementation and support of operational critical, complex systems including legacy technologies, multi-platform hardware and software and cloud solutions * 2 years professional experience managing local and remote vendor resources including overall vendor management * 2 years working knowledge of SOX and PCI compliance * Proven ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple projects, competing priorities and adeptly re-prioritize based on changing needs * Proven track record collaborating effectively with IT support teams, ensuring clear and concise communication resulting in adherence to SLA/OLA * Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work professionally and productively with all levels of employees in various departments * Must ensure that accountability measures are effectively maintained and that follow up on actionable items are done in a timely manner * Must be flexible and adapt well to change * Computer skills required (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) * Must be on call and available to support irregular operations (i.e. Incident Response, BCP) Preferred Qualifications * Graduate degree or relevant certifications and professional training programs (ex.
