The Engineer job family develops and maintains desktop, airport and mobile devices for the enterprise. Engineers must understand current and future technical platforms from the hardware, operating system, communications, security, and system services layers. They are responsible to plan, design, and build the standard platforms for the company.

Document and communicate assigned work and progress to immediate project team, and management
Communicate problems or issues in a timely manner
Analyze and resolve problems of medium complexity
Research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution with minimal supervision
Provide effective resolution and follow-up of problems as they occur
Analyze trends to proactively prevent problems
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies
Test and implement system components using techniques that preserve system integrity
Understand implications of situations and proactively lead cross-functional problem resolution
Responsible for immediate response to production system and environment problems
Provide technical problem resolution
Assure functional and technical integrity of system
Input to budget
Perform technical cost-benefit analysis
Assist in the creation and execution of communication plans for end users of implemented Desktop Engineering processes to provide input on enhancements, new versions, problems, issues, etc. Maintain an awareness of the use & benefits of Desktop Engineering
Develop understanding of business process being supported by assigned system(s)
Provide input and light carpentry work for design of PC and printer equipment. i.e. Mounting or removing of cabinets; brackets; raceways for cables
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of professional work experience and education
3 years work experience in Desktop Engineering or Information Technology
Completes tasks with minimal direction.
Works well within a team
Is proficient in the required desktop technologies such as Windows, MS office, SCCM, MDM
Deliver and implement a standard software packaging and deployment based on knowledge of best practices
Ensure workstations and peripherals are patched and secured as per policies and modern best-practices
Ability to create Knowledge documents for use in training operations personnel on the deployment, support and maintenance of environments and platforms
Ability to analyze and resolve problems of medium complexity
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based, customer-service-oriented environment
Excellent partnering, negotiation, and communication skills
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking technologies and fundamentals
Experience in managing alternate client operating systems, such as Mac OS, IOS, and Android
2+ years of professional experience in enterprise client device management.
2+ years of customer service experience
Airline Travel Industry experience
