Platform Engineering is focused on the development of self-service tools and automated processes, which enable Allstate developers to continously integrate and deploy thier code in line with the princiiples of CICD & DevOps.
Platform Delivery & Instrumentation(PDI) provides solutions across the organization supporting CompoZed and DCIO application development areas.
This is a high-profile area working to support Allstate Enterprise's drive to Continuous Delivery.
The technology is continually evolving and it needs a senior technical leader to help define and implement its roadmap and lead its engineering team. You will have a passion for DevOps and be a technology leader with an enterprise\industry perspective.
Candidates must be self-motivated, curious and collaborative IT professionals with a passion to continually learn and develop their skills. Ideally you will have a strong background and experience in one or more of the following: software development, systems administration, IT automation.
PDI are looking for an experienced technical leader to strategically research, develop and drive adoption under the Common Tools initiative. Your role will span the enterprise and you will have opportunity to influence at a senior level. An inspirational style will also help develop and grow the capability of an experienced team of engineers.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Architect highly available and scalable Enterprise solutions.
Research and evaluate new technologies.
Define Enterprise tools strategy and working with peers and colleagues drive alignment & adoption.
Actively manage the workload plan for the team and work in partnership with the Product Owner.
Provide mentoring and coaching support to develop the talents of the existing team.
Drive quality solutions and outcomes through a continuous improvement mindset.
Ability to self-manage and be highly motivated to deliver results.
Able to facilitate diverse teams, multi-task, and work under pressure to meet challenging schedules.
Able to work effectively across organizational boundaries and with senior leadership.
Able to develop creative solutions to technical problems.
Minimum of 5 years' experience using and administrating build automation tools such as Jenkins, BuildForge or Octopus Deploy
OR Minimum of 5 years' experience in UNIX/Linux or Windows Server Administration.
Familiarity with IT Operations (configuration management, logging and alerting, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis); and
Ability to develop strong relationships and influence senior technical and management grades across the Enterprise.
Excellent understanding of software development best practices including SDLC, Software Configuration and Change Management, Agile, Scrum, Kanban.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; and
Must be available for rotation
Passion for working with new technology and an aptitude for learning.
