PLATE MAKER 1 (This is a junior plate mounter position)

Mount (and prepare for mount) flexographic printing plates for the packaging product lines.

This is an entry level, first shift position

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Be able to review job ticket instructions to determine customer requirements.

  • Preparing carrier sheet materials for Flexographic Plate Mounting

  • Measuring, cutting, sewing

  • Operate video drill and pin mount equipment

  • Identify mounting priorities of jobs based on scheduled timing and work involved

  • Cleaning, organization and maintaining department cleanliness

  • Communicate with mounters on same and other shifts

  • Communicate well with other departments as need be to clarify instructions and provide accurate timely work to our customers

  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures by demonstrating safe work habits

Competency Requirements:

  • Good dexterity and attention to detail

  • Read a tape measure and be able to convert between fractions, decimals, standard and metric.

  • Position requires some problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.

  • General computer knowledge

Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk, sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

As a Front Line Manager, first level supervisor, you will be responsible for assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of subordinate employees. You will use your leadership skills and management techniques for planning, scheduling, and coordinating work operations, planning and carrying out the training and development of employees, evaluating employees' work performance, and in performing all other related administrative functions.
