This role will focus on:
As the successful candidate, being a Plastics Team Leader means you will work collaboratively across production and other business units, acting as a key driver in the effectiveness and efficiency in the development of our company's manufactured products. This is a rare opportunity to be working within a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, so it's important that you aim to ensure that we are health and safety complaint and are working to produce exceptional quality products. You will achieve this by maintaining high performing lines and executing in operational and line clearance functions, as well as leading and coaching your developing team to thrive in this new environment.
As an integral part of our success, you will initially be focused on:
1.This role is a 4 day a week 10 hour per day role working in a clean room environment, requiring appropriate gowning to be worn to perform duties.
2.Assist the local production and validation engineering teams in the validation of manufacturing cells
3.Development of world-class manufacturing standards and operational procedures
4.Lead in the hiring and development of the Plastics Team
5.Cross train in other manufacturing areas to provide operations backup support
6.Be a working Team Leader, assisting your team with the manufacturing of extruded hose and liquid silicone molds gaskets.
What you'll be doing
You will supervise the efficient manufacturing of company products in a clean room environment; by ensuring product quality is maintained.
You will review work in progress and address any issues which have been reported, as well as supporting production requirements as required.
You will undertake assembly line set up, operational supervision and line clearance activities such as:
Signing documentation for batches and line clearance
Ensuring facility cleaning is carried out
Undertaking training of assembly colleagues
Complying with company regulations and operating procedures
You will uphold line management responsibilities which include:
Succession planning for future growth
Developing multiskilled engaged teams
Managing holiday request and absence
Prioritizing daily workload within area of responsibility
You will collaborate and support other areas of the business as required.
You will assist in the achievement of manufacturing KPI targets.
Engage in Operational Excellence initiatives, identify and propose continuous improvement initiatives.
You will support and engage with project management activities and collaborate with our partnering manufacturing sites

To be successful in this role, you will need:
Solid experience with silicone extrusion or liquid silicone injection processes ideally in a medical/ pharmaceutical environment.
Critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Be organized, methodical, resilient and approachable with strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with global colleagues.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Be delivery focused with strong attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure.
Can effectively and appropriately challenge others
Can use personal initiative to work collaboratively as one team with a "can do" approach.
Have strong commercial awareness with an appreciation of operational functions.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Sets up and operates hose assembly related equipment to manufacture to established quality standards in order to meet production & customer expectations.
Assists engineering team in development of new processes, equipment and material.
Troubleshoots, repairs and conducts maintenance on equipment.
