The Technical Quality Leader is accountable to ensure a quality product is being manufactured to meet or exceed our customer expectations. The Technical Quawlity Leader establishes and maintains accurate process recipes for operations to safely produce products that consistently meet codes, specifications, and customer requirements at the lowest cost. The Technical Quality Leader is accountable to continuously improve the manufacturing process using Total Productive Maintenance ideologies and tactcs (TPM) to eliminate waste, improve safety, reduce cost, increase capacity and productivity, and improve the end product.
The Technical Quality Leader reports directly to the Site Leader and is part of the Site Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
The Technical Quality Leader will have responsibility for:
Ensuring a safe, clean and environmentally compliant work environment and building a culture where safety is the first and highest priority
Ensuring that all control plans, work instructions, and other procedures related to the technical operation of the production lines minimize the risk to employees.
Developing risk assessments for critical tasks
Ensure participation in all plant safety activities by his team and the MLPs under his leadership.
Metrics
Implement a personal safety action plan and review with leader

Participate in HPI work station assessments
Knowing our Customers
The Technical Quality Leader will have responsibility for:
Identifying, understanding, and teaching others the Critical Product Characteristics required to provide our customers with the highest quality product
Developing and implementing procedures and systems to ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations
Supporting experiments or trials for new and existing products to ensure they meet our customer's fitness for use
Customer complaint participation, including job and home visits to personally view product in field.
Leading the QM TPM Pillar
Acting as the site Customer Champion.
Working with T&D Pillar on Quality training.
Ensuring Plant is following all Quality Foundational Elements

In-house Audits
Process and Product Capability
Focused Improvement, Quality Management, Early Management Pillar progress
Customer Complaints including Service Exceptions and Cost of Non-Quality
Quality training completed.
Operator inspection compliance
All equipment and process calibrations completed as per QSA

Directing Operations
The Technical Leader will have responsibility for:
Conducting daily process audits to review Critical Product Characteristics and Critical Process Variables and implementing sustainable corrective actions for process shifts or upsets
Determining process consistency and performance (Ppk)
Implementing control charting schemes for Critical Process Variables
Developing and implementing Operator Control Plans to ensure that all products meet specifications at the lowest cost
Conducting process audits and implementing corrective actions to ensure product consistency and maximum volume
Identifying and eliminating special causes of product and process variation (troubleshooting)
Analyzing product and process data, providing feedback and making recommendations to optimize performance
Networking with other plants and the Science & Technology Center (S&T) to identify and implement best practices
Identifying and implementing process improvements
Implementing corrective actions for issues surfaced through quality complaints and hold tags
Coaching, counseling, and training all employees on process control
Creating, and documenting process settings and work instructions
Defining required maintenance actions to resolve equipment issues
Identifying and correcting repetitive equipment failures and working with Maintenance to identify and implement solutions
Identifying, analytically justifying and requesting capital funding for equipment, modifications, etc.

The Technical Quality Leader will have responsibility for:
Training primary employees in the manufacturing process
Training employees in process control procedures
Working with employees to develop and implement Operator Control Plans
Partnering with Maintenance to develop and implement Total Productive Maintenance plans for equipment to ensure employee understanding and ownership
Manage development of all MLP's and Interns

The Technical Leader will:
Serve as QM, FI & EM TPM Pillar Lead
Lead, coach and solicit input from team members to drive successful execution of TPM site goals.
Work closely with the T&D pillar to coordinate training
Drive root cause analysis.
Lead rapid improvements in Safety, Quality and Productivity.
Job Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience within a manufacturing or technical environment
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Master's degree preferred
Knowledge and Abilities:
Understands customer needs, product specifications, basic cost drivers and the Critical Process Variables (CPVs) that impact these elements
Understands and works with basic principles of engineering
Understands Six Sigma concepts including statistics, trial design, data analysis and control charting
Understands basic elements of producing fiberglass including raw materials, processes and control systems
Ability to communicate with and engage employees at all levels of the organization
Strong background in Statistical Process Control techniques
Ability to analyze and use data to drive process improvements
Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects at one time
Six Sigma Black Belt (preferred)
Lean Certification or evidence of Lean Manufacturing experience
Knowledge and experience with design of experiments
