PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Lead a plant Systems Team. Responsible for desktop hardware and software and support of critical business strategies. Leads projects and oversees technical staff. Direct system back-ups, identify problems and take corrective action, keeping logs according to policies and procedures.
Plant disaster recovery
Administration of Plant LAN and desktop security
Plant email, videoconferencing and phone systems
May support multiple Altec locations, as needed
Resolve complex problems users in person, via telephone or from remote location
Installation and administration of complex computer hardware and software
Responsible for the design, implementation and operations of networking hardware related to voice and data infrastructure
Develop monitoring systems for computer and network environments
Log service request with computer vendors when issues cannot be resolved
Make decisions and recommendations to users about appropriate hardware and software solutions
Develop hardware and software standards; Develop and document system configurations and procedures as appropriate
Conduct analysis of advanced voice and data technology to determine benefits to Altec
Oversee complex projects
Negotiate and administer supplier contracts
Willingness to work outside of standard business hours to resolve issues or complete special projects, as needed
May direct and supervise the work of others
All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Information Science, or other technical discipline or equivalent work experience required
Must be competent in the configuration, setup, deployment and support of the latest technology related to desktops, laptops, printers, associated peripherals and networking equipment, prefer four years working experience, advanced knowledge of Microsoft software, Cisco WAN networking equipment and Dell hardware and prefer experience with Oracle database and applications administration
Minimum 4 years applicable working experience required
Current valid Driver's License
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
