The Center Shop Supervisor is responsible for all production operations in the center shop departments ensuring safety quality delivery and cost metrics are upheld. Makes sure that unit and part production is fulfilled on a timely basis, according to terms of production orders. Monitors work area to make sure that work and equipment is performed in a safe and productive manner. Also performs various Human Relations tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversees the performance of assigned tasks; develops production standards; maintains constant checks on production to ensure quality and quantity control of finished products; and maintains surveillance over equipment and machinery maintenance
Ensures on-the-job training is conducted for workers in methods and equipment used in production; and provides support functions to include maintaining tools, machinery, equipment, and safety.
Prepares reports of operations and related documents.
Supervise production facility and personnel
Perform various human resource functions
Reads and interprets drawings, sketches and diagrams
Oversees the repairs and/or modifications of existing and new products accordance with established specifications and procedures
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
Keeps Manufacturing Engineer / Plant Operations abreast of all activities conducted
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Experience of LEAN Manufacturing.
Knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
Knowledge of welding processes.
Good math and measurement skills.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Intermediate computer skills, i.e. Word, Excel, and Access.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates degree, technical certificate, or equivalent coursework or experience in a directly related area with 5+ year experience with relation to the duties and responsibilities specified.
