THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY: Plant Superintendent
Manage and direct shift supervisors and process engineers
Provide manufacturing schedule, priorities direction to manufacturing supervisors insuring all customer delivery requirements meet 100% on time delivery performance. Manage labor headcount and costs to budget targets
Optimize material usage insuring proper regrind utilization.
Insure all equipment and tools are effectively maintained.
Coordinate with Maintenance Manager on repairs, upgrades, etc. required to support press equipment utilization targets. Drive and support quality improvements required in conjunction with Quality Department staff
Establish and drive efficiency improvements with the process engineers: cycle optimization, quality improvements, tool enhancements, etc.
React to various causes of supply chain and manufacturing interruptions and implement countermeasures to protect customer delivery requirements. Coordinate delivery deadlines with Production and Shipping personnel.
Maintain customer and supplier delivery rating performance data, achieving customer / company goals.
Collaborates with MP&L leadership and industrial engineering to assure optimum material flow, facility layout for inventory and warehouse organization.
Drive continuous improvement by implementing actions to improve total cost, delivery, and inventory performance. Create, update and manage bill of materials, assure 100% accuracy.
Champion activities to develop and implement lean material flow processes
Develop and implement plans to achieve material cost reduction goals.
Participate in the development of new model program requirements and assure engineering change control processes are robust.
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the automotive industry is preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience is preferred
Strong supervisory, project management, and leadership skills are necessary to prioritize, coordinate, and manage personnel and task conflicts
Ability to calculate and analyze data, generate reports, present information, etc.
Demonstrated ability to research and recommend new products and processes
Must be able to initiate implementation of continuous improvement processes
Working knowledge of MS office software applications
