Work Hours/Shift:

Full-Time/Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and tasks as scheduled.

  • Assist with all repairs, refurbishing projects, and furniture/equipment moving.

  • Assist in the repair of building equipment as instructed by the Plant Services Director.

  • Assist in the removal of refuse from the building and subsequent transfer to the dumpster.

  • Remove snow from the walkways and entrances when necessary.

  • Operate lawn mowers and perform other duties related to the maintenance of the ground area.

  • Perform a variety of cleaning functions within the building.

  • Unpack and shelve supplies in the store rooms.

  • Maintain the facility grounds.

  • Act in compliance with corporate, facility, and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Assist with safety inspections, tests, and drills as requested.

  • Attend pertinent in-service sessions.

  • Maintain accurate records and logs on maintenance activities.

  • Prepare and submit reports on maintenance functions as requested.

  • Provide facility-wide training on safety issues as requested.

  • Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to responsibilities.

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building and grounds.

  • Attends staff education, training and other meetings

  • Maintains professional conduct while interacting with residents

  • Follows facility policies and procedures including but not limited to resident rights, infection control, dignity, etc.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Proficient in the use of a computer

  • Typing of 40 wpm

The Plant Services Assistant performs routine manual work connected with proper maintenance of the building and ground area.

Performs officer duties to include, but not limited to: * Patrols buildings and ground for unlocked secured areas for after hour entry. * Locks and opens doors according to schedules. * Provides individual and group escorts to and from parking areas * Identifies and removes unauthorized individuals from property * Enforces campus parking policies/cite violations Maintains compliance with Security policies * Pursues and detains persons involved in criminal activity * Fills out incident/offense report forms and composes narratives. * Gives directions to areas of facility * Interacts with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors and staff. * Provides vehicle assistance * Patrols interior/perimeter of campus and parking Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities. Reports and escalates situations to the Threat Management team as appropriate. Provides quality customer service to Texas Health employees, visitors, and guest. * Greets people with courtesy and respect using the 10/5 rule * Provides directions and assistance employees, visitors and guests * Provide general information regarding Texas Health campuses * Provides transport/and escorts to and from campus parking lots Responds timely to calls for service and emergency situations. * Assesses the situation and utilizes appropriate de-escalation measures * Utilizes critical thinking skills and provides the appropriate level of force for the situation * Responds to and activates the appropriate emergency response code * Interacts with and provides assistance to Police, Fire, EMS and other emergency staff as required Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications Education H.S.
