Plant Protection Officer 2

Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas, Westlake Village and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.

Essential Duties:

This position reports to the Plant Protection Officer Manager. Candidate will provide support in both emergency operations and physical security of the facility.

Candidate will assist in emergency preparedness, education, evacuations and emergency response. They will also assist with inspecting fire protection equipment and checking for other system/equipment irregularities. They will also print badges, review and approve visitors, administer access through an access control system, process and file security information, conduct security briefings, and work closely with the guard staff.

Candidates will be trained and mentored to be proficient at performing all related duties. This position offers great opportunity for growth and development.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must be able to operate fire extinguishers and fire hose lines and be able to take command of emergency situations.

Required Skills:

Minimum of three years working in a related role in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Prior experience working in support of emergency operations and security operations is strongly desired but not required.

Experience with fire protection systems or firefighting/EMT is strongly desired. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully interact with internal/external customers across organizational levels. Ability to build instructional safety training programs and train personnel. Ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion.

Strong Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Ability to update/maintain SharePoint a plus. First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates are required. Wildland Firefighting certificate (S-130/S-190) desired.

Special Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance up to Top Secret with SCI.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $29.22 - $35.63 per hour + bonus + benefits.
