About the Position:
Assist PMD Outage Manager and Maintenance Supervisors in preparing long-term and annual outage work schedules. The Plant Outage Planner / Scheduler position is one of the key support functions for outage management and control.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Development of levelized CPM work schedules for planned fossil outages.
Update schedule progress.
Evaluate work progress (plan vs. actual).
Keep Outage Managers apprised of project status and potential problems.
Provide a level of detail within each plan to address the preplanning phase necessary for Scope Document development for the tracking of cost, material requirements and other key milestones which may affect the outage.
Provide guidance on the overall outage planning process.
Track compliance to estimates and review deficiencies through the use of targeted, specific key performance indicators (KPI's).
Compile and track the Power Plant Outage Schedule.
Compile and track the Maintenance Service Work Plan to provide the necessary estimate for budget development and manpower allocation, looking out seven years as defined in the Outage Work Management Process.
Assist in the preparation of budgets for outages with the plant budget analyst.
Develop critical path scheduling utilizing Primavera Project Planner (P3), evaluate work progress and recommend changes to schedules. Develop what-if scenarios using P3 to optimize manpower utilization.
Develop outage schedule alternatives to facilitate management decisions.
Monitor and evaluate manpower requirements to meet budgeted work and established work plans.
Maintain consistency among plant outage work base lists in Maximo and P3.
Assist PMD Maintenance supervisors in preparing outage work schedule estimates and developing detailed outage work packages for planned unit outages.
Determine required disciplines, man hours, parts, procedures and drawings required to perform outage work tasks.
Write detailed work procedures.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
A bachelor's degree in Management or Industrial Engineering is preferred. Those with an Associates degree in Industrial Engineering or other technical disciplines, and a minimum of two years related work experience will be considered.
Minimum of 5 years experience in power plant mechanical and structural maintenance is required Experience in power plant mechanical and structural maintenance is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of all aspects power plant operation and maintenance, substation maintenance, and General Shops Maintenance.
Skills in Maximo, Oracle, and job estimating techniques.
Minimum of two years experience working with Primavera Project Planner (P3 or P6) is required.
Ability to work independently with a high energy level and on multiple projects at the same time is required.
Candidates should be familiar with other management information systems such as Maximo, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
Strong written and verbal communication ability is required.
