Aquatech has an immediate need for a fulltime Senior Water Treatment Operator to work in our Santa Clara, CA location. The Senior Water Treatment Operator will perform the duties described in the job description below and will considered a Non Exempt employee.
The ideal candidate will have good communications skills, organized, ability to interpret instructions, and an attention to detail. The candidate will have prior experience working in industrial water treatment plants.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
Five (5) or more years experience in water or wastewater treatment plants
Experience in handling waste neutralization plants is preferred
Experienced in industrial or municipal set up and be familiar with filtration, clarifiers, automatic plant operation (PLC/HMI), automatic valves, pumps and chemical dosing systems a plus.
Hazwopper safety training and certification preferred
Job Description:
Operate acid waste neutralization plant in 8-hour shifts (day or evening shifts as required)
Keep records of tank level, pH, flow, pressure, or similar parameters on daily basis
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to include plant performance, discharge water quality, maintenance work performed / required, and any safety issues experienced
Develop Standard Operating Procedures
Perform water analysis as needed
Be able and willing to attend calls at odd hours, weekends and holidays for emergencies
Meet with customer O&M team on daily basis to provide update, understand the daily needs and manage the plant operation accordingly
Maintain all safety protocols prescribed by customer
Ensure that the wastewater discharged is always at or below the prescribed limits
Request any maintenance help in a timely manner to ensure 100% plant availability
Maintain good housekeeping and a safer work environment
Replace filters as needed
Take complete responsibility for the plant and customer relationship management
Order and maintain all spare parts, chemicals, and consumables
Inform customer changes in feedwater chemistry that will affect discharge quality
Offer inputs on improvements to plant operation, maintenance, automation and safety
Safely load / unload chemicals

Physical Job Demands:
Lifting / carrying / moving 50 lbs, may need to climb ladders and cannot be afraid of heights, and will need to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on site. Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area.
