Position Summary

Primary responsibility is to operate plant equipment and monitor plant operations in order to meet production plans and forecasting tons per hour, while maintaining product quality through effective plant operations. Assist with daily plant work place exams, plant clean up, making routine and scheduled maintenance repairs. Communicate potential major maintenance requirements as well as communicating any foreseen quality issues. Operate mobile equipment as necessary.

Requirements

  • Maintain consistent and efficient operation of plant

  • Diagnose and assists in trouble-shooting when process is interrupted

  • Perform preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections; repair and/or clean equipment as needed

  • Possess an excellent personal safety record and maintain a clean, safe work environment

  • Follow all safety rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by the Federal and State agencies & policies. Demonstrate good knowledge of lockout/tag-out procedures

  • Complete all needed paperwork in a timely and accurate manner

  • Perform other duties as required

Knowledge, SKills and Abilities

  • Ability to diagnose and trouble-shoot equipment malfunctions or failures

  • Ability to formulate decisions, makes and support recommendations, prioritize work, communicate with multiple parties and handle multiple tasks in pressure situations

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate positive working relationship with all levels of management, staff and customers

  • Excellent work ethic and self-starter; punctuality, accuracy and good attendance a must

  • Computer / PC literate

  • Must be able to work irregular shifts and weekends as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and hearing protection

  • Must be able to sit and operate equipment for long periods up to 10+ hours per day

  • Must be able to climb stairs to a height of 100 ft. and work at this height

  • Ability to operate radio, CB radio, computer and other equipment as required

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, climb and reach around all areas of equipment

  • Lift up to 75 lbs

  • Must be able to walk across steep/rough terrain

  • Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.

The crane Operator's primary function is to operate the crane safely and effectively. The operator must perform daily maintenance checks and report any mechanical or safety issues to a supervisor. In addition, the Crane Operator may be required to perform minor repairs to the equipment and is to assist in the general operation of each job site. The position consists of but is not limited to the following duties: * Operate a Link Belt 218 crawler crane (118 and 80 ton ) * Driving pylons & setting beams * Directing and assisting in rigging; * Loading and unloading of materials; * Operating all equipment the employee is able to operate; * NCCCO Certification required * Maintenance of all equipment and tools. The above listed duties require periods of standing, walking, climbing, stooping and bending. As well as periodic lifting of 10 to 50 pounds. In addition duties may require working from heights such as bridge beams or bridge caps. Due to safety regulations applicants must be able to effectively communicate in English. Applicants must have reliable transportation to the job sites in designated project areas.
