Performs a variety of tasks including basic carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, boiler and heat exchanger operations, fire alarm panel and equipment operation associated with general plant maintenance for hospital environments. Performs other duties as required. Supports and adheres to St. Luke Medical Center/Tempe St. Luke's Hospital guest relations philosophy to ensure that our patients, physicians, visitors, and co-workers receive outstanding personal care and attention.

Regulatory Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: Vocational training / experience in carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing trades.

  • Minimum Experience: 3 to 4 years previous Central Plant (boiler room) experience in a hospital or industrial plant. 2 years previous experience in general maintenance work. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Must have a valid AZ drivers license.

  • Required Certification/Registration

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and communicate effective in English.

  • Additional languages preferred

Skills:

  • Basic computer knowledge.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives: * Responsible for the manufacturing of liquid pediatric and medical nutritional products. The job requires the lifting and physical handling of raw ingredients during the weighing, staging and manufacturing processes. * The job also requires interaction with computer systems that are integrated into the manufacturing process along with documentation of manufacturing steps in accordance with work order and job procedures. * A processing operator must adhere to all GMP's and regulatory standards, follow detailed work order instructions, and be capable of performing the duties of either "A" or "B" rotation processing functions. Major Responsibilities: * Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system * Preparation/operation/monitoring/documentation of bulk slurries for blending operations * Operation/monitoring/documentation of computer-controlled heat treatment processes * Operation/monitoring/documentation of computer-controlled blending processes * Weighing/documenting/staging, utilizing a computer-controlled weigh system of batch ingredients * Operation/monitoring/documentation of a computer-controlled clean-in-place (CIP) system utilized for manufacturing equipment (i.e. tanks, heat treatment system, etc.) * Perform/document product standardization operations (i.e. vitamins, flavors, oils) * Maintain area GMP compliance through routine cleaning of equipment and general area, adherence to work order and job procedures and accurate documentation * Receipt and unloading of bulk raw ingredients and CIP chemicals * Perform other work related duties as assigned Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
