The Softgel Plant Operator will oversee production of softgel (dietary supplement) products in compliance with strict quality standards. The operator will be primarily responsible for operating softgel encapsulation and gel preparation machinery, including set-up, maintenance, break-down and cleaning, and reassembly activities. The operator is to ensure in-process products meet established specifications and may be required to troubleshoot machinery issues as they arise. A significant part of this role involves documentation of information on raw materials, manufacturing operations, in-process measurements and other quality-related information. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, have strong attention to detail, and be able to multitask efficiently.

Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Operates softgel encapsulation and gel preparation machinery to ensure products meet established specifications.

  • Performs machinery set-up and break-down activities, as well as routine cleaning and maintenance.

  • Follows and complies with required quality standards and documentation requirements, including batch production records, and raises any quality-related concerns to their team lead or supervisor.

  • As necessary, works with team lead and/or supervisor to receive cross-training on other production machinery.

  • Performs inspections and checks on specific equipment and machinery to ensure optimal functionality and reports to team lead or supervisor with any concerns.

  • Maintains and clean and organized work area.

  • Follows all good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures, as well as all company occupational health and safety standards and expectations.

  • Attends regular meetings to receive daily tasks and other relevant information.

  • Follows the production schedule as communicated.

  • Meets all shift requirements including arriving at work on time for all scheduled shifts.

  • Communicates any ideas for improvement in areas of safety, quality and productivity to supervisor.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Must be able to routinely lift and carry 60 lbs. (25 kg).

  • Basic computer proficiency.

  • Mechanical/machinery experience is desired but not required.

  • May be required to operate powered lifting equipment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude is required.

  • Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills are required.

  • Strong attention to detail is required.

  • Good communication skills are required.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 10:00 pm - 6:00 am
