As a member of the production team, the Plant Operations Intern will assume a role in assisting the Plant Manager and the development of food production at the company's "Snappers" facility. They will be responsible for assisting with production, development, and commercialization for all new products and business maintenance projects, while supporting cost savings and productivity projects. The Intern will have primary day-to-day responsibilities for food manufacturing, quality assurance, and packaging operations.
Assist Plant Manager with day to day food production needs
Assist plant leadership with ad hoc tasks and assignments
Act as an assistant on the production floor in areas including; production, packaging, quality, and maintenance
Act as an extension of plant leadership in areas including; kitchen/enrobing, panning, and packaging
Work directly and cross-functionally with departments including; supply-chain, R&D, and Quality Assurance
Troubleshoot new and existing manufacturing problems involving designs, materials and processes, and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions
Provide technical support at all points in the manufacturing and production processes
Work Safety Ensures that all tasks and functions of position are performed in a safe manner at all times and that all procedures and requirements are properly followed to accomplish assigned tasks
Food Safety/Quality Responsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
Other duties as assigned
Currently enrolled or completed Bachelor's degree in business, supply-chain, engineering, or related field
Computer literacy MS Office products
Understanding of manufacturing and business operations
Analytical and logical problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills
Positivity, flexibility, and time management ability necessary to succeed in a performance-driven environment
Must be proactive, a quick learner, and able to collaborate well in a dynamic, fast-paced workplace
