JOB SUMMARY: The Production Scheduler will analyze, schedule, organize and coordinate inventory for all planning and scheduling functions at a high-volume specialty gas production facility. The scheduler must complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy in order to reduce inventory adjustments in SAP, ensure assets are readily available for production needs and any other general duties as required. This position requires to work one weekend per month for inventory.
Manage Production Planning Module (PPM) inbox by reviewing orders and transferring production notes into SAP; establish consistent work order entry, maintain accuracy and customer-owned inventory.
Review and schedule stock replenishment orders and control backlog by assigning priority against immediate demands and production capacity.
Coordinate with production and lab departments and approve all rush orders considering production loads and order requirements. Act as liaison between sales and production, checks progress and expedites actions necessary to meet customer needs.
Manage work order exceptions, track which exceptions are valid and communicate with the assigned customer service representative to facility customer communication.
Expedite and reduce lead time, tracking orders to make sure they are progressing per schedule, identify delays and communicate appropriately.
Engage in raw material procurement to secure necessary gases for specialty mixes. Must evaluate current supply, order needs (in excess of supply), request PO and place order.
Track non-conformance and provide feedback to plant management for metric review.
Maintain an accurate inventory of cylinders for assigned plant, including tracking all transfers into and out of the plant. Maintain appropriate cylinder inventory levels, in consideration or production requirements.
Accountable for quarterly inventory reviews and adjustments.
Implement corrective action processes to address discrepancies and variances in cylinder inventory.
Verify outbound loads and certify as complete prior to shipping.
Enters tickets, production data, cylinder movements, and raw material receipts in SAP on a frequent and daily basis.
Orders and maintains supplies and plant repair materials.
Maintains neat, clean and professional appearance at all times.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED), Associates Degree in Business Administration preferred
3 years related experience or high-level administrative experience
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Intermediate computer proficiency with MS Word and Excel
SAP knowledge and experience strongly preferred
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines
