Job Summary

Job Summary

This position exists to provide for a smooth and efficient operation and the repair of all oil, LP and natural gas heating plants (air, water, or steam) throughout Camp Ripley.

  • Perform heating plant installation, alteration and maintenance on natural gas fired units and any similar natural gas fired systems.

  • Perform heating plant installation, alteration, and maintenance on LP gas fired units;

  • Adjust, repair or replace all LP or natural gas oven controls, burner controls, water heater controls, regulators and any similar gas control systems;

  • Provide air conditioning service at Camp Ripley.

  • Provide installation and repair on many types of ventilation,

air handling and cooling systems.

  • Provide refrigeration service at Camp Ripley


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience working with HVAC systems and refrigeration equipment;

  • Possess current Universal Refrigeration License

  • Must obtain current Minnesota Special Boiler's License within 6 months of hire

  • Must obtain a 410-A Refrigerant License within 6 months of hire.

Possess a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two year Technical College HVAC program

  • Possess a Power-Limited Technician license.

  • Broad plant maintenance experience involving repair of heating and ventilating equipment as a major focus.

  • Coursework in steam engineering maintenance or repair (e.g., welding, plumbing, electricity, steam engineering, boiler operation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and steamfitting).

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform repetitive motions with various types of equipment and tools on a regular basis. This job may require walking or standing to a significant degree on rough terrain or may involve sitting most of the time with pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls. Ability to climb and work off ladders. Ability to work in confined spaces with limited room to maneuver.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Compile a plan to address and continually review Off Road Product and their system's for cost reductions, manufacturing improvements and increased quality. Lead efforts in the development of Bill of Material (BOM's) for Off Road Product and execution Engineering Change Notice (ECN's). Participate in Pre-pulse Service reviews to stay abreast of Off-Road product service/warranty issues and contribute to providing solutions. Coordinate sustaining product activities with VA / VE strategic team's projects. Provide timelines and conduct cost analysis for improvement projects. Develop and maintain accurate records. Schedule and lead reviews on projects when applicable. Coordinate fabrication of prototype parts with prototype shop or external supplier. Coordinate with the engineering design team and testing department for any testing required for projects. Provide information to engineers for design support and to Manufacturing when applicable. Support information for service manuals and part books. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive designs, costing, test data, prototype models and product plans. Identify new ideas, products and/or features that improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs and keeps Off Road product line at the forefront of industry. Communicate effectively with co-workers and encourage their efforts. In addition, participate and encourage the highest level of quality, efficiency and professionalism with co-workers. Stay abreast of the latest material development, design methods, tooling, manufacturing processes and new technologies applicable to company products. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Familiar and able to work with the SAP and ECTR PLM system used in Minnesota. Familiar and able to work in the Teamcenter PLM system used in Augusta. Demonstrate the ability to lead people and give direction to complete the team's objectives. Ability to review and approve engineering drawings/prints. Proficient in verbal and written communications for reporting. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BS Engineer or equivalent experience. Minimum (2) years project experience Minimum (2) years' experience with recreational or wheeled vehicles.
