What You'll Do

This position is responsible for:

  • Performance reporting

  • Monthly forecast and month-end close

  • Business plan development

  • SOX control

  • Oversight of projects (both expense and capital)

  • Capital asset control

  • World Class Manufacturing cost deployment

What You'll Learn

  • How to lead and manage a team in a challenging environment

  • How to develop relationships across multiple organizations within the plant in order to achieve the financial and WCM goals

  • World Class Manufacturing - specifically the Cost Deployment pillar and how to be the compass of the plant to eliminate waste and loss in the process

  • Business Plan and Model Year budget development process

  • How to drive SOX control, manage annual Asset Audits and perform annual physical inventories

  • How to develop analysts into future leaders of the organization through the PLM and Development Plan process

What This Role Will Prepare You For

  • Higher level Finance roles, including Plant Controller, requiring an in-depth knowledge of FCA financial processes

  • Resolving problems among numerous several stakeholders with differing motivations

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or Accounting or MBA/Masters degree wtih a concentration in finance or accounting

  • Minimum 5 years of core finance or accounting experience OR 4 years of core finance and accounting experience with a Masters degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Experience with budget, forecast, and report actuals through the monthly close process

  • Understanding of technical manufacturing finance principles and WCM

  • Business acumen (understands the operational segment of the business)

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent

  • Preferably 3 years or more of experience in manufacturing finance

  • Proficient in SAP and Hyperion Essbase and knowledge of the project writing system

  • Prior supervisory experience

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives: The Manufacturing and Facilities Engineering Department is responsible for planning, organizing and directing engineering services for capital projects, continuous improvement projects and overall facility maintenance activities. The department provides technical and engineering expertise and support to all plant departments as needed. * Assure that Capital Long Range Plan and project execution are completed in a thorough, professional, timely and cost-effective manner * Manage, develop and recruit new talent for the Sturgis Engineering staff * Direct management of the plant's Capital Budget * Act as the liaison between the plant, division and corporate entities, providing the coordination and direction for all capital project activities within the plant * Assure that technical support is provided to all plant departments as needed * Provide direction and support for the Facilities Maintenance Front Line Leader in the upkeep and improvement of the physical plant Major Responsibilities: * Plan and coordinate all project activities on a plant-wide basis * Provide support to any plant department needing professional engineering assistance * Lead the preparation of the annual Capital Plan * Lead the preparation and submission of capital budget packages to be considered for the Capital LRP * Responsibility for Engineering capital and expense budgets * Supervise Sr. Engineering Technician who provides CAD services and drawing management * Responsible for the management of the validation program * Lead the planning and coordination of the annual shutdown * Work with the Engineering Manager to develop long-range engineering departmental goals and objectives * Direct all activities concerning engineering projects as defined by the Engineering Manager * Function as a Project Engineer as required due to workload requirements * Provide liaison with Division and Corporate Engineering * Act as a backup/substitute for managers and engineers in the department * Manage and support the Facilities Maintenance Front Line Leader in GMP and grounds maintenance activities * Lead plant fumigation activities Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Background: 3 – 5 years experience in one of the following – Construction Manager, Facilities Manager, Process Control Engineer, Production Supervisor or Department Manager 5 – 8 years experience in one of the following – Plant Engineer, Project Engineer (Staff or Senior level) Total combined minimum years of experience required (not necessarily the sum of above) – 10 years Accountability/Scope/Budget: * This position is accountable for all project activity within the Sturgis Plant, control and administration of the Capital Plan and providing professional technical assistance for trouble shooting and continuous improvement activities * Completed projects must conform to appropriate regulatory, quality and safety guidelines and policies * This position has full managerial authority for project management decisions.
