The Plant Manager is a staff level position responsible for employee safety, manufactured quality, meeting production output targets and labor utilization, complete and on time order fulfillment, cost reduction and continuous improvement activities.


Core duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Supervises daily labor to complete scheduled production requirements within budgetary guidelines.

  • Participates in weekly staff meeting, supplies key production metric updates.

  • Focus on continuing to improve the competitiveness of the operations.

  • Lead Lean Manufacturing implementation and process improvement (Kaizen) activities at worksite.

  • Leads, manages and develops plant employees to assure the necessary capabilities and culture is in place to maintain an effective operation. This includes establishing direction, gaining commitment, delegating, and building organizational capabilities.

  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.

  • Recognize customer commitment and drives activity for continued quality improvement, as well as, supporting ISO Certification and procedure accountability.

  • Ensure compliance to processes and procedures related to ISO Certification.

  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, production efficiency and quality of product.

  • Participates in new product development meetings and support production requirements to make sample parts, complete trial runs, and launch products on time.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Maintains time and production records.

  • Manages routine Human Resource duties with the assistance of the HR Manager.


  • Directly manages Supervisors and Team Leaders as well as hourly employees in the Production Departments. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Four-year College or university program certificate plus two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • ADP/Kronos or other time keeping software

Job Summary: Manages fleet operations for NPT, Circle K's proprietary fleet, and the team responsible for providing fuel inventory management, supply coordination and dispatch services to company and dealer-operated stores. Ensures optimum fuel inventories, service levels, arbitrage value capture, and delivered freight costs by analyzing individual and team performance, systems capabilities, sales trends and market conditions. Provide operational interface between NPT Fleet and internal departments. Essential Functions: * Supervises the NPT Fleet. Responsible for ensuring fleet performance and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. * Responsible for recruitment and management of fleet drivers. * Responsible for unannounced observations and compliance with Fleet SOP with fleet drivers. * Responsible for the performance of the NPT Fleet on key metrics including fleet utilization and capture of arbitrage (Best Buy) value, and safety. Ensure the fleet is operating safely and in compliance with all federal, state, and local law. * Manages the team responsible for fuel dispatch and delivery by identifying the most cost-effective method(s) of delivering fuel; coordinates supply of fuel to gas stations. * Coordinates with fuel teams and management to establish targets for Fuel Distribution Key Metrics: Driver performance, Inventory Days Supply, Delivered Costs, Arbitrage Capture, and Run out Rates. * Manage product quality turnover in compliance with RVP government mandates. Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and distribution. * Improves company image by supporting company goals and developing internal and external information programs. * Provides management information on Fuel Distribution Key Metrics and other relevant departmental performance by assembling and analyzing data; identifying and researching trends; providing forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; advising management on needed actions. * Works closely with external software providers to review any software or application issues that may arise as a result of a problem with the application. Also works closely with IT to develop system and application procedures for addressing issues and implementing program enhancements. * Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions. Allocates program costs by preparing operational and risk reports for analyses. * Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting and orienting employees. Maintains staff job results by training, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results. * Manages compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. * Resolves customer concerns by planning and directing the receipt, investigation, evaluation and settling of complaints and claims; following up with customers; personally resolving difficult situations. * Maintains safe and healthy work environment by enforcing organization standards; adhering to legal regulations. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field preferred. Other combinations of job related experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted. * Requires 10, years experience working in a petroleum dispatch department and/or heavy trucking industry; 3 years fleet management and supervisory experience. * Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred. * Requires experience working with TMW or similar dispatch software.
