Job Title: Plant Manager

Department:Operations Reports to: Change/Operational Excellence Manager

Direct reports: All production, shipping, and maintenance staff

Essential Functions:

Direct production scheduling and ensure all production quotas are met.

Work closely with sales to proactively meet customer demand.

Prioritize workflow and job sequence based on customer demand and executive management’s direction, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsible for the proactive performance management, training and development of all manufacturing, production, and maintenance staff.

Drive and sustain new culture of continuous improvement/Kaizen.

Ensure a culture of professionalism, service excellence, and workplace wellbeing.

Maintain, real-time, DEAR database.

Collect data and produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

Meet production KPI’s to include, on time delivery, equipment uptime, setup time, and related.

Perform cost accounting and maintain manufacturing/production/maintenance department budget.

Implement daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping and safety program and ensure OHSA compliance.

Document all work functions and develop manufacturing SOP manual.

Document operating procedures for each machine and work area.

Maintain daily production and raw materials inventories.

Implement Lean Manufacturing, to include: 5S, Kanban, Scrap reduction, JIT inventory and delivery, cross training, (Total Productive Maintenance), TPM, Total Quality Management, TQM, Root Cause Analysis, and related Lean practices.

Implement and ensure adherence to all HR policies, procedures and time and attendance requirements.

If necessary, implement an ISO and GMP program.

Assess and recommend capital improvements/present capital spending requests with detail.

Ensure all aspects of the plant, all equipment, and all tools are in safe operating order.

Implement an equipment Total Preventative Maintenance program.

Maintain all paperwork and databases/real time.

Maintain inventory of all equipment repair parts and maintenance supplies.

Conduct internal facilities, 5S, safety, and inventory inspections.

Conduct research/benchmark/recommend and install industry best practices and corresponding equipment, tools, and practices.

Qualifications/Required/Preferred Skills:

10-15 years’ manufacturing/plant management experience.

Knowledge of low volume/high mix manufacturing.

Experience implementing cultural change.

Strong equipment repair and maintenance program experience.

8-10 years’ experience successfully implementing plant-wide change to include Lean Manufacturing, ISO, GMP and related.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing sales and processes.

Strong knowledge of CRM/ERP systems, SAP, DEAR or equivalent.

8-15 years people management experience.

Strong knowledge of safety laws and regulations/DEP and OSHA.

Excellent interpersonal, stress management, and negotiating skills.

Excellent internal and external customer service skills.

Excellent planning, scheduling, prioritization, and time management skills.

Highly organized and efficient, excellent at optimizing technology.

Bachelors or Associates degree in related field.

Knowledge of rubber tubing Industry, preferred.
