Plant Manager

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading and driving all site operational activities, ensuring consistent levels of production excellence are achieved and sustained, while developing a fully engaged and talented workforce. Provides vision and direction for the entire facility, in order to ensure current and future success.

Ensures the facility meets/exceeds key performance measures and maximizes profitability by building short and long-term strategies/initiatives to meet customer, market and competitive demands. Develops and communicates clear expectations and focus; identifies & provides required resources and guidance as necessary. This position is located in Vernon, CA.

Position Responsibilities:

1.Drives continuous improvements in key areas, such as: Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost & Customer Service, while developing direct reports. Improves upon the capabilities of all plant personnel.
2.Required to build a Safety First culture and develops highly motivated workforce; serves as a positive role model of emotional intelligence and servant leadership. Drives positive employee relations and delivers sustainable results.
3.Continuously improves site processes and technologies; stays current in new technological developments. Develops and executes upon a site capital plan, addressing both short-term a long-term opportunities.
4.Champions continuous improvement efforts; implements and sustains manufacturing best practices / procedures, and meets/exceeds relevant certifications / qualifications / requirements (E.g. OSHA, AlB, GMP, HACCP, FSSC, and FDA).
5.Identifies and eliminates potential sources of food safety risk. Responsible for delivering site environmental, health, & safety performance; works to exceed expectations for all internal & external audits.
6.Acts as liaison between plant personnel and corporate functions; builds solid relationships between these teams. Effectively communicates urgent issues both internal and external to the site, as needed. Identifies issues quickly, develops action plans and coordinates team member activities, so that these issues are communicated upward, and dealt with quickly & effectively.
7.Develops a highly effective site leadership team, by applying high standards for selection and continued performance; establishes clear and stretching goals, communicates and delegates key responsibilities, and actively utilizes all performance, development and career tools, to their full potential.
8.Requires Lean, A3 and relevant TPM skill sets, with demonstrated problem solving capability. Must be competent in identifying root causes of issues and adept at developing and implementing corrective actions, to prevent problems from repeating.
9.Required to implement Lean & TPM across all site areas, to elevate site performance; must also develop, deploy, & sustain Leader Standard Work, to ensure continued success of these efforts.

  • 5 years Manufacturing Experience

  • 2 years' Experience in Operations Leadership

  • Lean Six Sigma, PMP, TPM or other relevant certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

As a Plant Care Specialist, you will have a strong work ethic and keen attention to detail. You will also be able to work independently and possess a genuine desire to service customers by taking the best possible care of the plants in their work environment. After completing our World Class- 4-Week Horticulture Training, our Plant Care Specialist will visit customer facilities such as offices, retail sites, hotels, banks, and corporate centers; as well as water, prune, and clean plants. We utilize a variety of plant care tools (hoses, sprayers, etc.) to provide individual care to a host of plant species. Responsibilities: This includes but is not limited to the following duties. * Travel to customer sites providing World Class service to Ambius clients. * Carry plant care materials, occasional lifting and climbing of ladders to reach plants. * Water, prune, change out and clean plants as needed. * Assist customers with plant recommendations. Experience Requirements The successful candidate must have the following: * At least two years customer service experience. * At least two years of experience with Microsoft Office applications. * Strong attention to detail and Enjoy hands-on work. * Meet all company Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements. * Valid driver's license with less than 3 infractions in a 36-month period. * Excellent communication skills. * Ability to work independently.
