Role:

This role will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of a food manufacturing facility. Main goal is to oversee the successful production of food products, while ensuring a safe working environment, preventing injuries and accidents, remain compliant with Process Safety Management (PSM), OSHA and other safety and environment regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall owner of Plant KPIs, including but not limited to:

  • Production Quotas

  • Turnover/Absenteeism

  • Recordables

  • Coordinates the development of RCA's and Action plans to solve problems and make improvements

  • Responsible for Team Member Safety

  • Responsible for Food Safety & Quality

  • Responsible for Plant Schedule attainment

  • Responsible for delivering cost KPI's including inventory & Plant Costs

  • Face of Plumrose in the local community

  • Responsible for setting the culture for the facility and upholding JBS Values

  • Gives work directions, resolves problems, prepares schedules, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work

  • Monitors and analyzes costs and helps prepare annual budgets

  • Manages and works closely with Plant functional leads including Safety, Quality, HR, Finance, Maintenance & Engineering

  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

Work 40+ hours per week in production areas. Exposed to all hazards present, including slippery floors, machinery, noise, extreme temperature variations, etc.

Skills and Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field; work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in food processing management

  • Proven track record of high performance in a food processing plant, preferably fully cooked.

  • Basic understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations and requirements

  • Team player with effective communication skills

  • Strong math & reading/comprehension skills

  • Continuous Improvement & Supply Chain experience a plus

  • Computer skill such as Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Track recommendations and action items, work with senior leadership to implement proposed changes in a timely manner

  • Able to provide in-field support on a daily basis

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus

Scope of Position: The maintenance manager in training is responsible for directing plant maintenance activities. This includes providing direction to the maintenance team in maintenance of production equipment in a manner that ensures employee safety, product safety, and quality and compliance to production schedules. This position will also manage all maintenance costs for the plant. Responsibilities: * Owner of maintenance KPI's * Coordinates the development of RCA's and action plans to solve problems and make improvements * Assist the Business Development & Engineering team in establishing and executing capital budgets * Ensure team member safety through training and completion/tracking of safety work orders * Ensure food safety & quality as it relates to plant maintenance activities and programs * Responsible for plant schedule attainment as it relates to plant maintenance activities and programs * Deliver cost KPI's including MRO inventory & plant maintenance costs * Oversee measurement, tracking and planning for safety, quality, repair and preventative maintenance programs * Set the maintenance culture for the plant and uphold Plumrose values * Work closely with the maintenance manager, planner, supervisors and maintenance director * Monitor and analyze maintenance down time to improve production up time as efficiently as possible * Manage, develop and maintain vendor support to ensure the most cost effective solutions * Make recommendations to the leadership team to improve the maintenance function * Will require travel to other plants to assist as needed * Be able to fill vacancies with supervisors, planners and manager * When maintenance manager positions open, be ready and available to fill role Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of maintenance supervisor experience, 3+ years of maintenance planner experience or equivalent combination of education and experience * Experience with repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment * Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and PSM programs is a plus Physical Demands/Work Environment: * Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle/feel items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear. * Office and plant setting: the plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold (non-weather related), and working near moving mechanical parts * Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
