Job Summary: The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a 24-hour operation manufacturing facility. This includes production, maintenance, quality, materials, manufacturing engineering, warehousing while meeting requirements related to cost, safety, environment, security, quality, shipping and other customer and company expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership in driving exceptional operational improvements in quality, scheduling, safety, productivity, efficiency, cost improvement, and employee relations.
Exemplify leadership and management skills, ensure that employees have the resources to do their respective jobs, provide clear direction, communication, feedback, positive and constructive discipline as required, maintain and improve employee morale and performance.
Accountable for all plant operations and production goals.
Communicate production performance to and carry out all directives from the GM of US Operations.
Maintain close interaction and communicate with management team and other departments to keep them informed and resolve issues.
Responsible for 24-hour operations and expected to respond to developing conditions and crisis situations as necessary.
Train, supervise and mentor plant staff to enhance their performance and overall potential.
Champion safe and environmentally sound performance in all areas of production and adhere to all corporate and regulatory requirements.
Champion the Quality System Implementation/ Maintenance.
In conjunction with top management, establish and manage activities to meet short and long term plant goals, and report plant metrics and progress.
Drive all six sigma and lean initiatives within the production department and continually strive to reduce waste and improve departmental standard operating procedures.
Drive the Profit/Loss of the plant by implementing measures as needed.
Responsible for working with sales in order to plan production.
Responsible for maintaining inventories.
Establishes and enforces policies and procedures to ensure plant cleanliness.
Develop and implement strategies to maximize productivity.
Analyze production metrics and data to determine areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering, Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Materials required; Master's Degree or equivalent preferred
Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing with increasing levels of responsibility
Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes
Knowledgeable of safety laws and regulations
Training in Lean and Six Sigma concepts preferred
In-depth knowledge of business and management principles related to budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources
Leadership/management skills as well as technical competence and project management skills
Proven track record in building a high-performing manufacturing team
Must be energetic, hands on and self-disciplined in fostering a team oriented approach.
Excellent people management skills and overall business management skills
Excellent business acumen and global perspective of the industry
Ability to drive own agenda and make decisions effectively
Must be a self-starter and highly organized
Ability to work well and communicate within all levels of the organization
Ability to interpret financial reports.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors
Experience in ISO 9001 Accreditation
