In 2003, a fourth plant was constructed in Dickson, Tennessee. The Foam Products Division manufactures foam seating and energy absorbent pads for the North American automotive industry.

Position Summary

Bridgestone APM Company is looking to identify a Plant Manager for our Foam Products Plant located in Dickson, TN.

Responsibilities

Summary/Objective

  • Direct and manage plant operations for safety, quality, production, shipping, and receiving.

  • Establish and monitor overall KPI's for all areas of plant performance.

  • Develop and control profit, plans and budget.

  • Provide overall leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Promote a Safety First culture. Review weekly safety trainings with team; report accident and near miss incidents immediately; and complete BSTOP safety audits. Strive to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

  • Support safety, health and environmental commitments that the company makes.

  • Owner of the Action Plan and P & L Statement for the Plant. Provides direction based on GAP analysis.

  • Provides direction, development and leadership to staff and management team.

  • Incorporates shop floor organization (3S) and cleanliness among plant personnel.

  • Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and Indirect Material Expenses.

  • Manages capital asset budge and spending.

  • Coordinate plant activities through planners, schedulers, supervisors, and managers to ensure that manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.

  • Develop and implement cost down action plans encompassing costs in all areas of the business.

  • Present KPI results to Senior Staff on a monthly basis; implement and track PDCA countermeasures to items where targets are not met.

  • Based on sales budget and forecasting processes, analyze, implement, and control production costs.

  • Lead improvement teams focusing on scrap, rework, and COPQ improvements using cross -functional teams that work together to minimize loss and maximize gain.

  • Have regular communication with other BAPM Plant Managers to share best practices.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree (preferably Engineering or Operations Management)

  • Three (3) of management experience in high volume manufacturing

  • Presentation skills

  • Ability to problem solve

  • Financial management

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferable)
  • Five (5) years of automotive management experience with previous Plant Management
