SUMMARY

Directs and manages the production of all product lines within the organization. Responsible for delivery of customer products on time, maintaining waste, establishing, and maintaining morale, industrial relation practices, controlling manufacturing costs, forecasting budget and labor, coordinating overall manufacturing problems, maintain a safe environment, and ensuring good housekeeping practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the manufacturing and related operations. Ensures that production schedules are met, that production workload and labor is properly allocated, and that plant labor, facilities, environment, equipment are adequate to meet customer needs.

  • Supervises manufacturing engineering in maintaining equipment and improving products and methods in line with lowering overall manufacturing costs.

  • Establishes a work standard for each area of responsibility in accordance with improving efficiency of production while lowering costs.

  • Establishes departmental requirements for manpower, supervision, and equipment, with continuous modifications as necessary in accordance with management concurrence.

  • As applicable, maintains, produces, and conforms to budgetary limitations as well as future forecasting.

  • Ensure that work quality standards are maintained and adhered to.

  • Determine and create all required production reports to assist in maintaining effective control of production operations.

  • Ensure manufacturing and production facilities, machinery, tooling, and equipment are maintained in an efficient operating condition.

  • Select, train, and develop subordinates for key positions. Ensure that supervisors and lead personnel know their responsibilities and scope of authority to effectively carry out their functions.

  • Assist in determining organizational structures and manpower requirements, ensure job classification is maintained accordingly and employees are compensated accurately.

  • Works to resolve employee grievances and otherwise promotes good employee relations.

  • Maintains safe working environment in accordance with OSHA & Cal/OSHA standards.

  • Contribute to Company's general management through participation on the senior staff.

  • Maintains clean, organized work environment and adheres to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.

  • Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for direction, coordination and evaluation of professional staff and production employees.

  • Hold supervisors/leads accountable for meeting goals and objectives and timely performance of all duties and responsibilities. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

  • Responsibilities include interview, hire and cross-training employees; plan and direct work; appraise performance; reward and regulate employee behavior; address complaints and enact solutions.

  • Provide coaching and development to supervisors, support team members, production leads, and employees to develop and enhance their technical and operational performance. Meets with subordinates according to performance review schedule for formal performance evaluation and goal setting.

  • Display effective leadership as defined by the Carlisle IT Model Manager guidelines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis.

  • BA/BS degree in business, industrial engineering; equivalent education and management experience may be substituted.

  • Ten years' (10) experience in related industry.

  • Five (5) years of previous leadership experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Articulate with use of good grammar skills.

JOB SKILLS

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to weigh all available facts and opinion within a reasonable time to conclude what is best suited for the customer, the company, and the employee.

  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing - Six Sigma methodology and tools applications.

  • Experience and ability to coordinate and assist Lean Initiatives related to Supply chain, Order Fulfillment and Transactional Strategies through different Value Stream Map to improve OTD, Lead Time Reduction, Inventory Reduction.

  • Experience on Capacity Management and Production control activity.

  • Proven team building, problem solving and project management skills; sound, reliable judgment, and high ethical standards.

  • Good in interpretation of the Engineering and Quality documents such: specifications, drawing, tolerances, part list, routers, bill of material, manufacturing control instruction, acceptance limit, quality control instructions, special customers' requirements/clauses, quality alerts, first article requirements, etc.

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems; SAP preferred.

  • A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to be stationary for prolonged periods working on a computer. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

  • ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toe shoes

  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses.

  • Hearing protection, in specific locations

  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific are.
