COMPENSATION

SUMMARY

The position of Industrial Maintenance Plant Mechanic will be instrumental in helping repair and maintain all stationary equipment including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, augers, hoppers, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, pumps, etc. on ready-mix and pug mill plants. This position will also require some mechanical work on rolling equipment i.e. front-end loaders and skid steers. All while maintaining a safety-first attitude. Adhere to all company standards, policies, and procedures, as well as comply with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA, TCEQ, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will troubleshoot, and perform repairs, rebuilds, and maintenance of all equipment.

  • Will aid in identifying the root cause of failures and report to the supervisor.

  • Dismantle and reassemble equipment, using hoists, forklifts, cranes, and hand tools.

  • Examines parts for damage and excessive wear and reports issues to supervisor.

  • Replaces defective parts effectively, efficiently, and safely.

  • Perform basic cutting and welding jobs.

  • Tests equipment when done with work to ensure it operates correctly.

  • Servicing equipment, as necessary.

  • Inventory and maintain assigned trucks and tools.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with a disability to perform essential functions.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Basic working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, cutting/welding, mechanicals, and other ready-mix-related components. CDL is preferred, but not required.

Welding and Fabrication Skills: Experience with MIG and stick welding and fabrication is required.

Mechanical Experience: Experience with heavy machinery is also preferred, but not required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Overtime will be required. Some nights, traveling out of town required. Every Saturday required.

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and must meet Summit Materials MVR requirements. Work in all weather conditions within reason keeping the safety of oneself and the team in mind.
