Job Summary
Smokey Point Concrete and Skagit Ready Mix a Division of CPC Materials have become leaders in the local and state construction marketplace. We are looking for a plant mechanic to perform maintenance and repair of the crusher plant. The primary responsibility is the repair and maintenance of the plant equipment including crushers, screen decks, conveyors, drums, etc. while maximizing material production and minimizing plant interruptions and breakdowns. What You'll Do
Promote Safety

  • Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others. Understand and comply with MSHA rules and regulations. Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment

  • Perform safety and mechanical inspections of the plant and equipment. Perform repairs and maintenance throughout the plant including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustments, parts replacements, crusher linear changes and water pump service.

    Address housekeeping issues within the workspace. May work at other facilities. Perform General Physical Activities

  • Perform a variety of tasks that assist with the operation of the plant, including cleaning, washing, sweeping and shoveling materials. Ability to use various electric and air-powered hand, welding and cutting tools. Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and climb enclosed stairs up to 40'. Education
    High school diploma/GED Skills You'll Need

  • Previous experience in the aggregates production or millwright industry preferred. Strong communication, problem solving and leadership skills Flexibility

  • Be available to work overtime and extended hours and occasional Saturdays depending on demands. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions. Mechanical Skills

The Plant Manager is responsible for critical issues within the plant on a day to day basis and is the main point of contact for the location. This position oversees all activities of our associates engaged in middle management roles, administrative, production, distribution, driving, and repackaging compressed and liquid gases into cylinders. The manager ensures work procedures are met for production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines and equipment, and oversees the financial budget for the location, while ensuring the facility remains on track to the annual budget set forth on a monthly basis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Operate and safely maintain equipment for distribution, pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and company policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. * Supervises and coordinates activities of drivers/ workers engaged in production, distribution and repackaging compressed and liquid gases into cylinders. * Supervises and coordinates activities of drivers/ workers engaged in production, distribution and repackaging compressed and liquid gases into cylinders. * Provide coaching and corrective action promptly, to ensure that poor performers are identified, documented and improved to acceptable performance, or released. * Train plant and branch personnel to insure adequate and consistent production levels to meet customer demands. QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelors preferred; * At least 3 years experience in production planning, DOT, FDA, SMS, and cylinder maintenance; * Experience in welding industry and working knowledge of cylinder fill operations * Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently; * Familiar with Hydro-testing Procedures and record keeping; * Experience with SAP or similar software system; * Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
