The Plant HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all human resources functions at the plant level, ensuring alignment with corporate HR policies and procedures. This role plays a critical part in fostering a positive workplace culture, managing talent, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and safety regulations. The Plant HR Manager will work closely with plant leadership and corporate HR to drive initiatives that support business goals, employee engagement, and operational efficiency. The position will work with other plants (Georgetown, SC) to ensure consistency and assist in process development.Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for plant employees regarding HR-related concerns. Promote a positive workplace culture through effective conflict resolution, employee engagement initiatives, and communication strategies.
Talent Management: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to ensure the plant has the right talent to meet its operational needs. Partner with corporate HR on workforce planning and development initiatives.
Compliance and Policy Implementation: Ensure adherence to corporate HR policies, labor laws, and safety regulations. Conduct regular audits and training sessions to maintain compliance and mitigate risk.
Performance Management: Administer the performance review process at the plant level. Provide guidance to managers on setting goals, delivering feedback, and managing employee performance.
Training and Development: Identify training needs and coordinate with corporate HR to implement programs that enhance employee skills and career development. Support succession planning efforts.
HR Metrics and Reporting: Track and report key HR metrics to corporate HR, including turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and compliance issues. Use data to inform decision-making and recommend improvements.
Safety and Health:Collaborate with the plant’s safety team to ensure a safe working environment. Address workplace accidents and incidents in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements. Ensure Compliance training is performed monthly.
Compensation and Benefits: Assist with the administration of compensation and benefits programs. Provide guidance to employees on benefits enrollment and issues.
Plant-Specific Initiatives: Lead or participate in plant-specific HR projects and initiatives that support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
8+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of labor laws, safety regulations, and HR best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to influence and collaborate with plant leadership and corporate HR.
Experience with HRIS systems and data reporting.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
