SUMMARY:

Plant Health Care Technicians (PHC Techs) performs all functions of the Integrated Pest Management Program, including administration, scheduling, inspections, treatments, equipment maintenance, record keeping, and customer relations. Professionalism and customer service is a key element of the position, as well as routing, product mixing and application. Tree and shrub ID, Pathology, and knowledge of turf or tree physiology are valuable but not required. Experience in related fields of work (pest control, exterminator) or outdoor work experience (lawn care, yard care, mowing, gardener, weed control, maintenance) is desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose insect, disease, and cultural/environmental conditions.

  • Evaluate and recommended treatment options.

  • Ensure proper filling/mixing procedures and material dilution are followed.

  • Understand and operate state-of-the-art equipment.

  • Learn/understand insect & disease life cycles, plant biology, and soil biology.

  • Perform accurate and timely record-keeping.

  • Maintain a safe and controlled work environment.

  • Adhere to company safety, state and local regulations.

  • Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment.

  • Maintain open communication with consulting Arborists and clients to provide feedback on plant health care issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous Tree Care Experience Required

  • Two or Four-year degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Arboriculture, Horticulture or related discipline is a plus, but not required

  • Leadership experience and a desire for career growth will be given a priority

  • Ability to identify local tree, shrub and turf species

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Class A or B CDL-Air a plus

  • ISA Certified Arborist is a plus

  • Related past experience is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Specific task training provided

Job Summary The LPN provides routine patient care in the office setting under the supervision of the Lead RN and/or Lead LPN. The individual assists in providing education to the patients/family as needed. Work is performed with moderate supervision. Responsibilities and Standards * Applies nursing process to clinical situations. * Assesses and triages patients to the appropriate department or referral to emergency department. * Assists providers with routine patient care. * Obtains accurate vital signs from the patient and reports abnormal findings verbally to provider. * Accurately obtains health history and reconciles medications. * Serves as interpreter between the patient and provider when needed. * Accurately processes electronic lab and diagnostic test orders. * Fills in logbooks and special forms (pertinent to department) * Administers medications by oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal routes. * Follows nursing policies and procedures for intravenous access. * Performs department specific procedures. * Actively participates in quality improvement projects. * Complies with all company medical/nursing policies and procedures. * Promotes and complies with all accreditation standards of care. * Educates patient and/or family on prescribed treatment regimens. * Assists in referral process. * Assists patients in pharmaceutical assistance programs as needed. * Performs waived testing as ordered by the provider. * Follows policies and procedures. * Logs results per policies and procedures. * Orders and maintains inventory of medications. * Maintains the sample and pharmacy log. * Checks for expiration dates and disposes of expired medications correctly and in a timely manner. * Keeps exam rooms and treatment areas clean per infection control policies and procedures and well stocked. * Accurately utilizes medical equipment as trained. * Reprocesses medical equipment following established policies and procedures. * Orders medical supplies from central supply. * Assists with monthly reports, i.e., hand hygiene, infection control, equipment checklist. * Maintains use of universal precautions at all times. * Performs other related duties as indicated or when requested by supervisor. * Preloads patient's medical information into the Electronic Health Records. Experience Education/Training Level: * High School diploma or GED equivalent. * Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
