SUMMARY:

Plant Health Care Technicians (PHC Techs) performs all functions of the Integrated Pest Management Program, including administration, scheduling, inspections, treatments, equipment maintenance, record keeping, and customer relations. Professionalism and customer service is a key element of the position, as well as routing, product mixing and application. Tree and shrub ID, Pathology, and knowledge of turf or tree physiology are valuable but not required. Experience in related fields of work (pest control, exterminator) or outdoor work experience (lawn care, yard care, mowing, gardener, weed control, maintenance) is desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose insect, disease, and cultural/environmental conditions.

  • Evaluate and recommended treatment options.

  • Ensure proper filling/mixing procedures and material dilution are followed.

  • Understand and operate state-of-the-art equipment.

  • Learn/understand insect & disease life cycles, plant biology, and soil biology.

  • Perform accurate and timely record-keeping.

  • Maintain a safe and controlled work environment.

  • Adhere to company safety, state and local regulations.

  • Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment.

  • Maintain open communication with consulting Arborists and clients to provide feedback on plant health care issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous Tree Care Experience Required

  • Two or Four-year degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Arboriculture, Horticulture or related discipline is a plus, but not required

  • Leadership experience and a desire for career growth will be given a priority

  • Ability to identify local tree, shrub and turf species

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Class A or B CDL-Air a plus

  • ISA Certified Arborist is a plus

  • Related past experience is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Specific task training provided

As a Sales Executive, you can look forward to: * Responsible for new C-level account development with large complex customers with longer sales cycle. Preferred qualifications for consideration: * Sales experience with government agencies, and a good understanding of the federal procurement process * Background in complex government information technology projects. * Experience in state and local government IT systems and programs, management consulting services sales, payment processing, prepaid government benefits, cloud computing (Government/FEDRAMP) are preferred.
