Basic Function

Almstead PHC (Plant Health Care) Technicians work with the latest technology and information in treating our customers plant health problems. As a PHC Apprentice, you will be partnered with an experienced technician to perform plant health care applications, You will evaluate, monitor and treat for disease conditions as well as soil conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper filling/mixing procedures and material dilution are followed.
  • Understand and operate state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Learn/understand insect & disease life cycles, plant biology, and soil biology.
  • Perform accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Maintain a safe and controlled work environment.
  • Adhere to company safety, state and local regulations.
  • Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment.

Requirements

  • Two/four year degree in arboriculture, horticulture (or related field) helpful
  • Enthusiastic about what you do and the ability to work extra hours when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Valid drivers license.

VIEW JOBS 6/17/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-09-15T00:00 Stamford Hospital is looking for a full-time Operations Manager who is: * Responsible for the safe operation, control and maintenance of the Central Utility Plant (CUP) and all Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems throughout the Stamford Health hospital campus. * Manages: Stationary Engineers, and Maintenance Mechanics to provide 24 hours a day /7 days a week coverage of the CUP and related HVAC systems. * The expectation of this position is for the incumbent to be accessible via cellular telephone in the event of an emergency. Required Skills * Ensure that the heating demand loads of the Stamford Health campus is met by the high-pressure steam boilers and the cooling demand loads are being met by the chillers at the CUP. * In charge of maintenance, testing, and repair of plant equipment such as boilers, pumps, fans, engines, generators, electrical equipment, refrigeration systems, etc. * Supervises and operates the boiler, chiller and building management control systems. * Troubleshoots problems with various mechanical systems and computerized controls and determines source of malfunction and takes necessary action to resolve the problem. * Supervises assigned personnel. * Trains staff in the operation, maintenance and use of equipment and systems. * Prepares work schedules and directs the assignment of personnel. * Working within budgetary guidelines; plans, allocates and maintains inventory and supplies for preventative and emergency maintenance needs. * Prepares equipment and material requisitions, including specifications and vendor bids required for operation, maintenance and repairs. * MHOSP* Required Experience * Operating Engineer (OE2) preferred - Issued by the State of Connecticut. * Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in plant operations experience required. * General systems maintenance experience required.
