The Reliability/Maintenance Engineer will work with maintenance, production, and management staff to understand, improve, and provide insight into the mechanical integrity of the equipment used in our production processes. They will use root cause problem solving to identify the causes of mechanical failures and to identify solutions to prevent reoccurrence of identified issues. The engineer will work with maintenance staff to improve reliability program throughout the plant.


Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize chemical, mechanical and engineering knowledge to solve and identify maintenance, I/E, DCS and utility issues across multiple departments and unit operations.
Plan and perform maintenance repairs with focus on problem elimination.
Observe recurring maintenance problems and use root cause problem solving skills to determine any trouble-shooting tools that can be used to collect data on equipment and failure symptoms/elements.
Train maintenance employees in reliability techniques.
Maintain and enhance the existing Preventative/Predictive Maintenance tasks for equipment utilizing SRCM principles.
Capture historical equipment data, interpret it and revise the Preventative/Predictive Maintenance tasks that result in improved equipment performance and reliability.
Maintain equipment files and CMMS info with up to date prints, factory spec sheets, and parts lists for existing and new equipment.
Consult with purchasing to specify and stock correct replacement parts optimizing maintenance stores system for cost control, accuracy and reliability of plant operations.
Sponsor and improve Capital Appropriation Requests processes to improve identification, justification, tracking, prioritization, and implementation.
Identify and provide justification for capital projects.
Provide process troubleshooting and technical directions to manufacturing operations.
Use and maintain systems associated with ISO, Management of Change, and Process Safety Management.
Assure compliance to all HS&E requirements and regulations.
Continuously improve plant effectiveness in Safety/Environmental by providing clear and visible leadership.
Openly support management of plant assets to achieve strategic and budgetary objectives.
Openly support continuous improvements of customer service and quality.
Continual improvement in general maintenance knowledge through vendor training or other educational tools.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related science/technology field (Chemical, Mechanical Engineering preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a hands on maintenance/project and/or reliability engineer.
Accomplished experience in chemical plants and equipment operation. Oil & Gas, food ingredients, API's, or an applicable industry would be great as well.
Applicable Preferred

Skills:
Experience in project management.
Experience in Process Safety Management
Experience with process controls and instrumentation a plus
A strong aptitude and interest in learning and expanding maintenance functions towards overall problem elimination.
Strong background in rotating equipment; pumps, blowers, compressors etc.
General PC skills, familiarity and proficiency in MS Project and other MS Office applications.
Strong background in the fundamentals of a CMMS.
Must be comfortable working with vendors, crafts, engineers, manufacturing employees and other maintenance.
Must have training and proven experience in root cause problem solving.
Must have the communication and facilitation skills to lead groups in the various problem solving techniques.
Experience in multi-tasking, prioritizing complex issues and managing multiple projects.

VIEW JOBS 11/18/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-16T00:00 The Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician II (BMET II) position at OSF HealthCare System is a mid-level position for the provision of general and specialized medical equipment repair and limited mentoring of other Biomeds in support of the maintenance of clinical equipment installed throughout the OSF HealthCare System. The BMET II serves primarily at the facility, and as needed at the regional level acting as a technical resource for key stakeholders throughout the OSF HealthCare System. Key stakeholders include all others in the Clinical Engineering department, OSF point of care clinicians and other local staff. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Associates Degree in Biomedical Equipment or Electronics Technology, military electronics training. * An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. * Eligibility for certification from the International Certification Commission (ICC) as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET). * Successful completion of two or more qualified vendor or third party service schools. * 2 to 3 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician. * Working knowledge of Joint Commission and other applicable standards and regulations as they relate to the effective operation of the Clinical Engineering department. * Experience working with Computerized Medical Equipment Management software systems and relational databases. * Good working knowledge of a wide variety of clinical equipment with a working knowledge of various job elements performed by other Biomeds. * Ability to present complex data in a concise format. * Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are required. * Ability to work well with others. * Excellent general office computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner. * Ability to use common bench, power and hand tools, and test equipment associated with the maintenance of medical equipment. * Fundamental knowledge of: * a. Anatomy and Physiology. * b. Public safety in healthcare facilities. * c. Fundamentals of electricity and electronics, pneumatics and mechanical principals. * d.
